A cleaning expert has revealed how often you should wash everything from your pajamas to your bedding – and the right way to wash them.

In addition to transforming different areas of her home, Caroline is also a specialist in making any piece of clothing look like new.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, the cleaning expert detailed her best-kept laundry secrets and even revealed how much wear and tear you can get out of your jeans, bra, and pajamas before you throw them in the wash.

Get started cleaning! Wash your towels after three uses, bed linen once a week, and pajamas every few days

Caroline revealed for the first time how often you should clean your towels.

She said, “For really clean towels, wash your towels after about every three uses or at least once a week.”

The cleaning expert also noted that you should use warm or hot water when washing your towels as it is the most ‘hygienic’ option.

“Unless the care label says otherwise, use warm or hot water (which is the most hygienic option) with regular detergent on a regular, regular cycle,” Caroline told DailyMail.com.

Next, the professional describes when to toss your sheets in the washing machine.

She explained that when you wash everything, keep in mind how often you sweat.

“You should wash your bedding once a week because we sweat a lot every night,” said Caroline.

“Wash at the highest temperature listed on the care label to kill germs and bacteria on a regular or regular cycle (if sheets are cotton or polyester).

“Of course, read the instructions on the bedding label for best results.”

She then explained when to clean your pajamas, again keeping in mind how much you sweat.

“Wash your pajamas every few days, but if you’re a night sweater, increase the frequency,” Caroline explains to DailyMail.com.

“Conversely, if you shower before bed, you can even wait a few days longer, about five days.

‘Be sure to read the label for proper washing instructions, but generally to prolong life, wash them in cold water with a gentle detergent. To prevent shrinkage, air dry or tumble dry on low.’

There is a RIGHT way to wash your intimates! Clean underpants and socks after each use, while bras can be washed after three uses

The cleaning expert also told you when to throw your underpants, bras and socks in the washing machine.

She recommended that you wash your bras “after wearing them three times.”

Spotless! Caroline’s best kept laundry secrets

  • Use a mesh laundry bag for socks and delicates (and to avoid losing them)
  • Add a cup of vinegar to where you would normally add fabric softener to fluff towels, deodorize clothes, and brighten garments
  • When in doubt, use cold water to avoid shrinking and stretching. Cold water also protects the environment and saves you money
  • Wash dark clothes inside out to prevent fading
  • You only need about a tablespoon of detergent per load

The cleaning professional also described the best way to keep your private parts looking like new.

“The best way to wash them is by hand with a mild detergent, but you can also machine wash them in an optional mesh bag to help them keep their shape,” she told DailyMail.com.

“If you machine wash, wash in a smaller load on a delicate cycle, followed by air drying on a drying rack.”

As for your underpants, she noted that they should be washed after every use, adding that using a lingerie bag will help keep their shape.

‘Underpants should be washed after each use. The right way to wash them depends on the material, but in general it helps to put them in a lingerie bag to keep their shape and elasticity,’ Caroline added.

‘Wash on a delicate program with cold water and then dry the underwear on a low setting in the tumble dryer. To extend their life even further, air dry them instead of throwing them in the dryer,” she said.

She then advised how often to clean your socks.

“Socks should be washed after every use,” she said.

Caroline even shared her secrets to extending the life of socks when cleaning.

Turn socks inside out and toss them in the washing machine. To prolong their life and prevent the elastic fibers from stretching, socks should be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle,” she told DailyMail.com.

“You can let socks air dry to make them last even longer, or just toss them in the dryer on a low setting after every wash.”

Casual wear for the win! Clean your T-shirts after two wears and your jeans after ten wears

When it comes to your casual clothes, Caroline explained how often they should go in the washing machine, which means your jeans should be cleaned after 10 wears (stock image)

As for your casual clothes, Caroline explained how often they should be washed.

Speaking of T-shirts, she explained, “Depending on how often you sweat, you can wash your T-shirts after one or two wears.

“If you have a printed T-shirt, turn it inside out before throwing it in the wash. Pay attention to your T-shirt’s washing instructions on the label, but in general T-shirts should be washed on the delicate program with cold water.’

She then went on to describe everything you need to know about cleaning your jeans.

“If your jeans start to smell bad, that’s a good indication it’s time to wash them. Otherwise, you can wash them every 10 wears,” Caroline told DailyMail.com.

She recommends paying attention to the care label on your jeans every time you wash them.

‘As always, read the care label on your jeans, but a good rule of thumb is to turn jeans inside out and wash them in cold water on a delicate cycle to prevent shrinking. Hang dry jeans,’ the cleaner said.
