Coleen Rooney has become the target of vile, misogynistic chants from Watford football fans as their team played her husband Wayne’s Plymouth Argyle.
Embarrassed supporters were heard making sexual comments about her when she appeared on I’m A Celeb during Friday night’s match.
A group of Championship team fans repeatedly shouted ‘she’s getting s****ed in the jungle’ from the stands. The comments were heard during a live report of the match on Sky Sports.
They took place when Watford – where Sir Elton John is honorary chairman – played at Plymouth’s Home Park stadium.
Meanwhile, Watford supporters shared images on X – formerly known as Twitter. One wrote: ‘Watford fans singing about Coleen Rooney in Plymouth tonight.’ The user @rio_woolf ended his post with a laughing emoji.
Female football fans were outraged by the chants, which were repeated several times during the match.
One person told MailOnline: ‘It was disgusting, what a horrible thing to say about Coleen just because their team was playing her husband’s team.
“It looks like something from the 1970s, it’s so misogynistic.”

A source close to the Rooneys said: ‘With Coleen heading into the jungle, both she and Wayne knew their relationship would be scrutinized and talked about a lot.
“But this is just disgusting.”
Wayne, 39, revealed he missed his wife of 16 years ‘so much’ as they have not spoken for the past two weeks since meeting as teenagers at their council estate in Croxteth, Liverpool.
The former Manchester United star appeared on Jungle spin-off show I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked on Saturday evening and said: ‘We miss her so much and it’s been the longest time I’ve spoken without her since we were kids.

“Coleen’s parents are a huge help as obviously I live there in Plymouth at the moment with my work.
‘There is a good team that looks after the children and makes sure that everything happens with the children. We miss her, but we also enjoy watching her.”
A spokesperson for Plymouth Argyle said: ‘We are aware of the audible chants from Watford fans referring to Head Coach Wayne Rooney’s wife, Coleen, on Friday evening.
‘We fully condemn this type of chanting and are particularly shocked as Friday’s match was our match in partnership with charities, Trevi, who work tirelessly to provide safe spaces for women recovering from abuse and violence, and MAN: Culture, a growing ‘male alliance’.
