Identical 84-year-olds who dress in matching outfits every day since birth become internet superstars thanks to their uncanny resemblance to the twins from Shining

Eighty-year-old twins from Utah have taken the internet by storm for their decades-long habit of dressing in matching outfits.

Anne McQueen and Susan Briggs, both 84, have taken great pride in their shared appearance over the years.

“We’ve always worn exactly the same thing,” Susan said The Washington Post.

It has gotten to the point where someone goes shopping and reportedly buys two of the same things.

“It’s not to attract attention, we just like the same clothes,” Anne told The Washington Post

“It’s not to attract attention, we just like the same clothes,” Anne added.

Still, the pair tends to lean into the deceptive potential of their identical looks.

Both are retired health and physical education teachers, and they recalled how they pranked students on April Fool’s Day.

“Susan came in and started teaching the class with me,” Anne told the newspaper.

‘We had the same outfits on. The students would just scream. They couldn’t believe it.’

As camp counselors at one point, Anne recalled, “None of the campers could ever tell who their counselors were.”

The two are well known in their native Salt Lake City — where they live just a 10-minute drive from each other — and strangers do a double take when they pass them, they described.

“They really respond, and it just cheers people up when they see two people the same way,” Anne said.

Lately, the duo has become famous on social media through Anne’s grandson, Mikey Metcalfe, who is married to her granddaughter Missa.

By means of TikTok handle @moandmissMikey has shared countless images and video clips from “The Grandmas” – as he called them – and amassed nearly 80,000 followers in the process.

As children, ‘The Grandmas’ also posed for a portrait in which they bear an uncanny resemblance to the ghost twins in The Shining.

It’s a likeness they happily lean into every now and then, posing for photos in matching blue dresses à la the ghostly characters.

The two also claim they share a psychic connection — what they call “twin telepathy,” according to The Washington Post.

“We have the same brain,” Susan said.

Susan also said that neither of them “go anywhere without telling the other where we are,” adding, “It’s always been that way.”

The sisters’ penchant for matching their clothes was never a ploy to achieve internet fame; it was simply a matter of personal preference, they pointed out.

“We always do fun things… It keeps us young,” Susan said.

“We’ve just always been very identical,” Anne emphasized.

“We dressed the same throughout our childhood and adulthood.”

The two aren’t the only twins to lean on their similar looks.

Earlier this fall, DailyMail.com reported on a pair of 69-year-old twins from New Hampshire who had been dressing identically for 23 years.
