A desperate man has turned to Reddit for advice after his elderly father rejected his son’s request to stop having loud sex with strange women while his grandchildren were awake and within earshot in their shared household.
The 25-year-old original poster – OP for short – wrote on the infamous site Am I A**hole’s subreddit that he was staying with his 52-year-old father, his girlfriend, 25, and their two children, aged five and one, while he looked for a more permanent living arrangement.
About his father, the man explained: “He will always take a new girl with him during the day when the children are usually awake and making a lot of noise.
‘I asked him to wait until the children are asleep, or at least until they are at school. However, he got upset and said, “It’s my house” or “take the f off then.”

“I’m not trying to be rude, yes it’s his house but I pay the biggest bill,” he continued, adding the disturbing detail: “The kids are smart enough and imitate the sounds.”
The OP emphasized that he did indeed have a job and was taking care of himself and his family – “so I’m not walking away from my dad,” he explained.
“I have literally had no financial or physical help since I graduated high school.”
In the man’s answers in the comments section, he explained that he pays almost all the household bills except the water bill – which his father takes care of, for about $40 a month.
The OP further emphasized that he “definitely” planned to “buy an apartment for myself as soon as possible,” “especially for the kids.”
Hundreds took to the comments to share their thoughts on OP’s extremely awkward living situation – with most deeming him NTA, or ‘Not The A**hole’.
“Ew what an absolute NTA, what kind of person does your dad think he is?! They’re kids and they shouldn’t have to go through that at such a young age,” one person wrote, to which the OP replied, “Exactly!!!”
‘NTA for requesting it because ewwwwww (for making out loudly while knowing his son and grandkids are home). That said, yeah, get yourself and the kids out of there because it doesn’t sound like he’s going to change,” a second agreed.

Some viewed the situation as ESH — or, “Everyone sucks here” — with at least one user insisting that OP was the hole because it’s the dad’s house, and rationalizing, “He can do whatever he wants.”
To this, the OP responded, “I’m absolutely not interested.”
One joker said, “NTA, but hide his Viagra.”
‘NTA You have to move. Meanwhile, play music loudly to cover up the noise. You could play baby shark on repeat, Barney, moose mating sounds, pigs mating, cats in heat, you get the idea,” wrote another in favor of small revenge for the misbehavior.
One concerned commenter said: ‘NTA – It’s shocking to see how many children imitate sexual sounds, words and gestures in public. This is a concern for the children, and for you. If you hear your oldest imitating these sounds at school, for example, you may get a call for worrying, age-inappropriate knowledge of sex.
“It sounds like your father is financially dependent on you. Please leave with your family as soon as possible, none of you deserve to live under these conditions.”

Still, others felt OP was at least somewhat wrong.
“YTA, it’s his house. He can do whatever he wants. If you don’t like it, leave, you lazy bum,” someone hissed, adding “YTA,” short for “You’re The A**hole.”
Another wrote: “ESH,” short for “Everyone is bad here.”
“You are in control of your life, OP, you can’t live with your dad because it’s convenient, and then you’re screwed, he won’t follow your rules. He is 52 years old and you and your girlfriend have plenty of time to get a place of your own,” they added.
“Your father is being praised for having sex with your children in the house, but he is 52 years old, he already raised you, if he wants to bring whores to his house every day, that’s his business.”
Someone else stated, “Esh. This isn’t your house, so you can’t make the rules. Your father is dirty too. Moving out of the house.’
But one person still pushed back, writing, “OP is definitely NTA. What kind of person has noisy sex with their grandchildren in the house???’
