A random act of kindness from a stranger, and a Hollywood star at that, gave one Reddit user a story that will stay with him for the rest of his life.
In a now-deleted post on the social media site’s r/golf subreddit, one person describes his encounter with the comedy icon when he was paired with him for a round of golf in Canada’s island province of Nova Scotia.
“One of my friends’ friends went to Cabot Cape Breton for a weekend and was set up with a single golfer,” the r/golf post read.
“They had Adam Sandler waiting for them at the tee! They said he was super cool and when they checked out at the end of the trip, they found out he had paid their entire weekend bill.”
That post became hugely popular on the site, with nearly 1,400 upvotes and over 80 comments.

Sandler may be more focused on golf now than ever as he prepares to direct a sequel to his hit film ‘Happy Gilmore.’
Christopher McDonald, the actor who played Happy Gilmore’s rival Shooter McGavin in the film, told Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in March that he met Sandler and saw an early draft of the script for the sequel.
Sports icons such as Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and golf stars like Paige Spiranac have been linked to the project.
There is no planned release date for the film yet.
