How to watch Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story?
Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story will be released as a three-part series on Disney+.
It got that name after the losing half of the lawsuit earlier in 2023 trademarked the phrase ‘Wagatha Christie’, meaning it couldn’t be part of the title.
The three images that make up the first look were revealed nearly a year after Disney’s streaming platform secured the rights.
The documentary was made by Dorothy Street Pictures and Lorton Entertainment, with Lucy Bowden directing and producing the documentary.
Lorton Entertainment also produced Coleen’s husband’s Rooney documentary in 2022.
What is Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story about?
The series charts not only the entire High Court trial, until the judge ruled in Coleen’s favour, declaring her post to be ‘substantially true’, but also the backstory to the case that so gripped the British public .
It will be narrated by the woman at the center of it all, Coleen Rooney, and through interviews with her family and friends, as well as some key figures in the process itself.
A look at the background reveals how Coleen turned into an online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories about her and her family kept appearing in The Sun.
Her investigation led to the infamous Instagram post that concluded, “It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
The documentary also explores how Coleen has publicly documented much of her life since marrying her childhood sweetheart and Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney.

A release date for Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story has not yet been announced.
However, now that the documentary has been in the works for a while and promotion is ramping up, it’s expected to hit Disney+ sometime this fall.
