How to unlock the Magick Archer calling in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Magic Sagittarius may misspell the word magic for some reason, but it’s also one of the coolest callings in the world Dragon dogma 2. Instead of just shooting normal arrows at monsters, you can shoot the Magick Archer magic arrows from a bow without a string, combining the Archer’s calling with spells.

Unfortunately, the Magick Archer isn’t one of the game’s four starter vocations, and you’ll have to venture to the map’s third area – Agamen Volcanic Island – to get it. In this Dragon dogma 2 guide, we will show you when and how to unlock the Magick Archer calling.

Remark: You can unlock the Magick Archer and Warman callings within minutes of each other, but only if you do some prep work first. Before getting started, I recommend also reading our guide on how to unlock the Warfarer calling.

When can you unlock Magick Archer in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

The Magick Archer is a late-game calling, but only because you need to reach the third continent, Agamen Volcanic Island, to unlock it. While you can continue the main mission until it finally takes you to the island, you can get there much faster by going back through Drabnir’s Grotto.

Drabnir’s Grotto is a mildly difficult dungeon in the southwestern part of Battahl. You can access it immediately after entering Battahl – no additional main story missions required – and you can get there by taking the Battahl pulley platforms to the southernmost point. After you get off the platform, just follow the path south and you will find the cave entrance. You are looking for this:

At the entrance, an NPC named Hillaire will confront you and tell you how dangerous and labyrinthine the cave is. If you’re above level 25, the cave isn’t much of a challenge at all, with only a few cyclops, orcs, and rattlesnakes blocking your way. Make sure you have some camping gear, healing items, a Wakestone, and that you are equipped with your highest level calling. You won’t find a scary boss here – just slightly harder versions of things you’ve already fought.
