A man has died and another has been rushed to hospital after a horrific three-vehicle accident in which a car flipped on a suburban road.

The shocking impact occurred Saturday afternoon on Hawksview Street in Merrylands.

One man died at the scene where another man involved in the accident was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

the man who died has yet to be formally identified, police told the Daily Mail Australia.

The horror attack took place on Hawksview Street in Merrylands on Saturday where another man involved in the accident was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition

The TNV vision showed police and NSW Ambulance crew performing CPR on a person on the ground near the overturned black vehicle.

Paramedics held up an IV in a desperate attempt to save the occupant of the car.

Such serious accidents happen ‘every month and a half’ in the same street.

“I was just working on my car and I heard two people racing down the road… and the next thing I know I heard a big bang and I turned around and a car had flipped over,” he said.

“I went downstairs and tried to pry open the door before the police arrived.”

Police have cordoned off the scene and are investigating the cause of the accident.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area as there are road closures.
