Horror as dad-to-be, 33, collapses and dies on Ryanair flight while his pregnant wife sat in another row of seats
A 33-year-old expectant father died on a Ryanair flight over Italy after suffering a heart attack while his pregnant wife sat in another row of seats at the back of the plane.
Giuseppe Stilo received medical attention from two trained passengers after he fell ill on flight FR8780 from Turin to Lamezia Terme on Wednesday morning.
Despite their efforts, staff were forced to intervene with a defibrillator and attempted to save the Ferrero employee from Filogaso as the plane returned to Turin.
Doctors rushed on board with adrenaline after the plane landed 35 minutes after take-off, but the man was soon pronounced dead.

Mr Stilo, who was traveling with his four-month pregnant wife to their families in Calabria, started feeling ill after taking off from Turin’s Caselle airport, LaStampa, around 11am yesterday reported.
The aircraft’s pilot was informed and decided to return to the departure airport, with the aircraft flying less than an hour into the expected flight time of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Two passengers trained as doctors intervened to help Stilo and, along with flight crew, began resuscitation efforts.
According to local media, this included chest compressions and the use of the built-in defibrillator.
Doctors waited nearby for the plane to land back in Turin and arrived with adrenaline and another defibrillator, but pronounced the man dead after administering a third shock.
It took 36 minutes for the plane to make the diversion and land back in Turin, Corriere Torino reported.
Mr Stilo had reportedly only recently started a new role as an employee of the Ferrero factory in Alba.
He married in June last year and lived with his wife, also from Vibo Valentina, in Vezza d’Alba.

ASL To4, the local health authority, said in a statement: ‘There was no delay in the rescue.
‘The medical staff of the airport emergency room were on the runway preparing to provide assistance and the 118 operations center, informed of the situation, sent the base ambulance from Borgaro Torinese, followed by the vehicle carrying the doctor and nurse in Venaria. ‘
“It should be noted that the first ambulance with volunteers was waiting at the gate and it took approximately 2 minutes to reach the airport grounds,” the statement continued.
‘In the meantime, the patient had three doctors with defibrillators and adrenaline assisting him, while the medical team came in immediately.’
Giuseppe Stilo was also reported as 34 and 35 years old in some Italian stores.
