A Guatemalan migrant woman was found dead after falling from a 30-foot border wall near San Diego. – after screaming for help for 20 minutes.

On March 21 around 10:27 p.m., officers received a call that a group was moving toward the wall, which is actually a combination of two walls built with metal poles and a power line on top.

Border Patrol agents spotted the group between the two walls and spotted the Guatemalan woman on top of the secondary wall, warning her not to climb down as they called for help from the San Diego Fire Department.

However, authorities claim that she kept trying to climb the wall but was unable to get down from the fence.

The migrant woman began calling for help as a border agent reassured her that it was coming.

A ladder was offered by an unidentified person around 10:35 p.m. However, the officer told them that they could not use them until the fire brigade arrived.

The officer was also arresting a second migrant walking along the south side fence.

Another officer followed shortly after with a fire crew on the other side of the woman calling for help.

The second officer and the firefighter turned and drove to a gate closer to the side of the wall where the woman was hanging, but the truck couldn’t reach it.

At 10:48 p.m., more than 20 minutes after she first called for help, the migrant woman said she could hold on no longer, as the officer desperately tried to assure her help was on its way.

She was pronounced dead just after 11:04 p.m., when firefighters finally arrived.
