The 60-year-old, who was wearing a red dress, was knocked unconscious when she hit her head on the ground after being attacked.

Last September, a senior director of Spanish ceramic wall and floor tiles company Pamesa was mauled to death by a bull at a festival near Valencia.

Jose Antonio Subies, 61, died in a hospital in the city after suffering blood injuries that affected his liver and one of his lungs.

He was the CEO of Pamesa’s South American group.

Mr Subies’ 63-year-old friend, Vicente Fontestad, director of a citrus fruit company, was injured after being attacked by the same bull and had to be rushed to hospital for leg surgery.

Footage of the drama showed the two men being lifted into the air by the bull, named Cocinero, which translates into English as Cook, after it was released onto the street in La Pobla de Fornals, near Valencia.

Events using bulls called Bous al Correr, where revelers try to avoid the animals when they are released into the streets, remain hugely popular in the Valencia region, which includes the provinces of Castellon, Valencia and Alicante.

Many deaths have occurred over the years at events like this, where partygoers have been gored or knocked down by bulls and hit their heads on the ground.
