Home and Away star James Stewart has opened the lid on his incredible 12kg weight loss.
said James The Daily Telegraph on Monday, he tipped the scales at 101 kilograms at his heaviest, having turned to food as a source of comfort during the Covid lockdowns.
After discovering he couldn’t keep up with his daughter Scout, 11, he decided to cut booze for two months and adopt a healthier diet.
“Nobody wants to hear it, but most of the work is done in the kitchen and at the bar,” he said of the secret to losing weight.
‘Cause everyone doesn’t mind a little exercise — it doesn’t matter what it is. The hardest part is the food,” he added.

He continued that swapping pasta in spaghetti bolognese for zucchini made a huge difference.
He added that “no grog at all” was also difficult, and that he had to tell himself “bar is closed” to get fit again.
‘I want to be at 90 kg. I think 90 is healthy – then I can show my kid that maybe I don’t have an eight-pack – but having a six-pack is fine,” he joked.

The actor added that his Home And Away colleagues have been very supportive of his weight loss journey as health and fitness are also important to them.
The actor first revealed the weight loss transformation in April, saying he was slimming down for his family.
James posted on Instagram showing himself looking ripped, revealing that he previously struggled to physically “keep up” with his daughter Scout, who he shares with his actress ex-girlfriend Jessica Marais.
‘I was 100 kg.. now I am 88 kg. I was slow…wearing baggy shirts and not feeling well,” the actor admitted.

“What hit me the most is that I couldn’t keep up with my child… now she’s struggling to keep up with me! Haha!’
James, who plays Justin Morgan in the Channel Seven soap opera, also shared some advice for anyone trying to “get in shape” – revealing that progression wasn’t as easy as it sounds.
“To anyone trying to get in shape, I’m not gunna sugar coat it…instead of beer and burgers, grab a protein shake and a salad…then just lace up your trainers and get working out!” he said.
