Donna-Marie of Hollyoaks is about to take a dark path from her past as she struggles with the feeling of being constantly isolated from her family.
The former drug addict, played by Lucy-Jo Hudson, was already feeling down after daughter Juliet chose to take friend Perri to Germany for her stem cell transplant instead of her.
And with Juliet gone, son Romeo choosing his girlfriend Rayne over his family and Ste and James busy with wedding planning and work, Donna-Marie feels more alone than ever.
In the next few scenes, the gym owner is desperate for someone to talk to, but James struggles with his conscience about working with Eric, so he finds little time to comfort Donna-Marie.
After struggling to cope, she leaves an emotional voicemail for Juliet.

Later, the mother continues to spiral and with no one making time for her, she struggles with being alone with her own thoughts.
Donna-Marie wants to do something nice for her daughter upon her return and asks James for help.
But with James’ head elsewhere while being blackmailed by incel Eric, his patience runs out and he snaps at the crumbling mother.
As his anger at Eric boils over, he takes it out on Donna-Marie by reminding her of all the mistakes she’s made as a parent.
Feeling worse than ever, Donna-Marie hits rock bottom as she takes a drive down a dark old familiar road.
Desperate to forget everything she feels, she calls former client Harold.
However, her daughter Juliet soon gets a nasty shock when she comes home at the worst possible time.
Emotions soon run high as in a heartbreaking moment, a distressed Juliet tells her mother she made a mistake.

But unable to deal with his guilt, James admits his part in Donna-Marie’s downward spiral.
Later, back at the Lomax’s, Leela reminds a shocked Juliet that her mother is vulnerable and has had a lot on her mind and instead of making her feel more isolated than she already is, she needs to show empathy and support.
Juliet soon listens to Leela’s words as her son begs her mother not to return to her past, reminding her how much she is loved.
Elsewhere, James is crushed by the fear that he could lose both Donna-Marie and Juliet.
But when Fiance, when Ste tries to comfort him, can no longer restrain his guilty conscience and regrets his recent selfish actions, he blurts out that he tricked Maxine into visiting Eric.

She tells her friend to tell their family that she has not had a stem cell transplant.

And will Donna-Marie be able to conquer her demons again?
