Hoda Kotb said she ‘knows[s] with certainty’ that she will meet someone new in the wake of ending things with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman.
The Today presenter, 58, opened up People about her love life since she split from the 65-year-old financier in early 2022, after being together for nearly a decade.
She admitted that while she remains happily single for now, she has a “weird, like, tingling Spidey feeling” that she’ll finally find The One – despite not being actively “on the hunt.”
“It’s the strangest feeling to know that,” she told the magazine.

“I can feel him sometimes, but I don’t see what he looks like, but I feel like it will,” she continued of her mysterious Mr. Right.
“So if someone says, ‘Maybe you’ll meet someone at Christmas…’ Maybe!”
Hoda’s new interview with People came on the 25th anniversary of the original Sex and the City premiere.
Coincidentally, this past January also marked a quarter of a century since the award-winning broadcast journalist joined NBC.
She reflected on the milestone: “In every relationship you’re in — whether you’re in a relationship with a boyfriend, a boyfriend, or even a job — you ask yourself, “How does it not feel like all these years?” And I think it’s because it kept changing.’
Speaking of SATC’s impact on being single in NYC, Hoda noted how the landmark HBO show “made being single cool…you felt empowered and not left out.”
“People sat alone in their apartments and said, ‘Am I the only one?’ No, you’re not alone. You are with your friends. It reminded us: if we have good relationships, we have enough.”
She added, “That’s what it taught us back then.”

Hoda started dating Joel in 2013, and the couple revealed in November 2019 that they were engaged.

On January 31, 2022, Hoda revealed during on-air Today that she and Joel had broken up.
“Joel and I have had a lot of prayerful and really meaningful conversations over the holidays and we’ve decided we’re better as friends and parents than an engaged couple,” Hoda explained as co-host Jenna Bush gave Hager a supportive nod. .
“We’ve decided that we’re going to start this new year… on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, wonderful children, and as friends.”

“Then the hard parts, sometimes you just want to forget…because that’s not part of a pretty picture,” she continued.
