Hilary Duff swears by THIS one secret hack to help fit in a workout during the hectic holiday season: ‘We have so much going on!’

Hilary Duff has a busy schedule during the holidays, but she prioritizes a fitness session with a special hack: exercising in the morning.

The 37-year-old Lizzie McGuire alum — who recently bundled up for a casual outing in rainy LA — shared that she put her health first during the festivities while chatting with Women’s health in an article published Tuesday.

The mother of three admitted to the outlet, “We have so much going on with school events and birthdays and other things. Our fall is very busy.”

But working out in the morning is the star’s “health hack,” and she explained, “You feel like you’re eating and drinking all day, (so) it’s nice to get it out of the way and just to know that you did it.’

When it comes to her own fitness routines, Duff revealed that she enjoys the Tracy Anderson Method — which helps focus on “strong, supple muscles and create balance where there is imbalance in their body,” according to the fitness entrepreneur’s website .

Morning workouts: Working out in the morning is the star’s ‘holiday health hack’, however, with the beauty explaining: ‘You feel like you’re eating and drinking all day, (so) it’s nice to take it out clear the way and just know that you did it’

Hilary also enjoys HIIT Pilates classes in a heated studio, with high-intensity interval training – such as push-ups and jump lunges – and Pilates, which makes her ‘a bit sweaty’ due to ‘removing toxins’.

The beauty shared that one of the benefits of HIIT Pilates is leaving her skin refreshed, saying, “There’s nothing better than the way (that workout) makes your skin feel.”

‘You feel like you’ve lost everything you wanted to get rid of, and then your skin just feels so nice. I really like that feeling.’

When she works out alone, the singer revealed that while she does high-intensity exercise, she also adds strength training.

‘As a woman, lifting weights is very important. It is important for your bones. It is important that we are constantly on our cell phones and paying attention to our posture,” said the How I met Your Father actress.

However, she added, “I don’t talk like crazy heavyweights. You know, I’m not a bodybuilder. But it’s fun to lift weights.”

Duff’s focus on health extends not only to the gym, but also when it comes to self-care, which she says has “changed in a lot of different elements.”

‘It’s not like, “Oh, I’m dry brushing or taking a bath, or exercising or moisturizing”…relaxing and resting is important, and exercising is important, but creating your sanctuary is a big part of self-care. ‘

On how she creates a self-care sanctuary, Hilary said that choosing a scent for the space she’s in is “an expression of how I feel.”

The star notably launched her own fragrance line called Below 60° earlier this month, and is the company’s Chief Brand Director. The brand offers consumers a variety of all-natural fragrances that fit into a plug-in diffuser.

While you’re talking to Elle Decor Earlier this month, in speaking out about her role on Below 60°, Duff explained that “a bowl of boiling wax and an open flame is a recipe for disaster in our household.”

Then she added, “This is your old-fashioned plugin that doesn’t look old-fashioned at all.”

“My home is a place where I feel like I can be my most authentic self and express what I feel like and how I feel,” the beauty told the outlet. “So it’s really exciting to add fragrance to it in a safe way and share that with the world.”

While she focuses on fitness and self-care for her own health, Hilary revealed that she also keeps her family members active.

Duff shares son Luca, 11, with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie, as well as daughters Banks, five, and Mae, two, with Matthew Koma – who she tied the knot with in 2019.

Hilary stated that her children enjoy activities such as swimming, and that both she and Koma play tennis together.

“About two years ago, I told him, ‘Here’s the deal: We need sports so that we still like each other when the kids leave the house,'” she humorously recalled to Women’s Health.

She continued, “So now we’re skiing, which is obviously seasonal. And we play tennis together, which is a lot of fun.’

Earlier this year, in June, Hilary opened up about going to play tennis with Matthew Shape magazine that she enjoys “that escape and that little break” with her husband.

‘It’s a very complex game and it’s hard to think about other things while playing. It kind of drowns out all the buzzing in my head.”

She also credited her personal trainer, Dominic Leeder, with helping her stay focused on her health and keeping up with exercise despite being a busy mom and working on set.

With her trainer, Duff focuses more on strengthening the upper body and muscles. “This is the first time I’ve really trained like this, and it makes such a big difference, especially with my core and not getting injured.”

The younger actress admitted to the outlet, “I walk differently. I hold myself differently. I eat better.’

During a performance op The Drew Barrymore Show To promote the book, Hilary opened up about becoming an author, saying: ‘I still don’t feel like a writer, but I really enjoy writing.’

‘It’s such a vulnerable place. And it’s hard to sit down and get in the zone and do it. Especially with motherhood, sitting down to write feels like a selfish moment.”
