- One man pushed another after accidentally getting in the way of his photo shoot
Two men risked life and limb and got into a fight over a photo at one of the most famous selfie spots in the world.
The two unnamed men clashed at the famous cliff-hanging illusion spot at the top of Pedra do Telegrafo, in western Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after one man got in the way of another’s photo shoot on Sunday.
The site is known for its Instagram-worthy images, featuring a giant boulder on which people can pose for a photo that, from certain angles, gives the impression that the person is on the edge of an abyss.
In reality, the rock is only a few inches from the ground.
The irate poser rose from his hanging position and pushed the other man after seemingly getting in the way of the photoshoot, before being kicked and put in a headlock position.
The man who apparently started the fight was quickly deadlocked
He then quickly asked his attacker for mercy as the par tumbled down the steep hill
The spot is known for its famous optical illusion that makes the drop below appear larger than it is
The pair quickly tumbled a short distance down the hill as the man who appeared to have started the fight was thrown to the ground.
He can then be seen holding out his hand and asking the other man to stop, as other tourists pass by to break up the fight.
Both men then got up and returned to safety as they continued to bicker as the footage cut away.
The Pedra do Telegrafo, located at the top of Morro de Guaratiba, is located in the Pedra Branca State Park, in the sector of wild beaches in Barra de Guaratiba.
The name dates back to the time of the Second World War, when the area served as a military station.
The 3.5 kilometer hike to the summit takes visitors to an altitude of approximately 350 meters above sea level.
It is one of the most popular photoshoot destinations in the world.
At the time of publication, #pedradotelegrafo had been included in more than 165,000 posts on Instagram.
