Herschel Walker insists he doesn’t know the woman who claims he paid for her to have an abortion as the Georgian Republican Senate candidate faces several surprise scandals in October, including his conservative son who publicly opposes him pronounces.

Walker told radio host Hugh Hewitt on Thursday morning that he would have admitted had he paid for a former partner of his to terminate their child’s pregnancy, claiming it’s “nothing to be ashamed of” despite his consistent pro-life attitude. attitude.

A report from The Daily Beast Monday alleges that a woman showed the reporter a personalized check for $700 and a get well card she received from Walker urging her to rest, relax and recover.

She said the money was for her to have an abortion and supported her claim with a $575 receipt from an abortion clinic from 2009.

Walker completely denied all of the anonymous woman’s claims in a Fox News interview hours after the article was published. He also issued a statement in the same vein.

Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker said he would admit he would pay for a former partner to have an abortion because it’s “nothing to be ashamed of” — despite consistently sharing his anti -abortion position without exceptions

The former NFL star said in his radio interview on Thursday when asked further about the claims: “I know this isn’t true.”

“I don’t know anything about a woman who had an abortion,” he said before using a confusing series of excuses claiming that if he paid for an abortion, he would be forgiven because it was his past life.

When pushed through when he needed forgiveness, the candidate backtracked on his comments and said “no.”

“I hate to say I was born again, but I have a new life,” Walker said. ‘And I have progressed.

“If that had happened, I would have said it, because you don’t have to be ashamed of that,” he claimed.

“You know, people have done that, but I don’t know about it. And if I knew, I’d be honest and talk about it, but I don’t know anything about that,” Walker concluded.

Georgia’s Senate race is one of the most closely monitored in the country as Republicans try to regain a majority in Congress.

Walker will face incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in the November midterm elections.

Walker is fiercely pro-life, saying in May 2022 that he is against abortion without exception.

He told reporters, “There is no exception in my mind. Like I said, I believe in life. I believe in life.’

“You never know what a kid is going to be,” he continued at the time. “And I’ve seen some people, they’ve had hard times, but I always said, ‘No matter what, hard times make hard people.’

Walker has called for more funding for single parent adoption and support.

The candidate’s only named child, Christian Walker, 22, said he begged his father not to run for the Senate because of the sheer amount of baggage in his past.

The son of the former NFL star and his college sweetheart, Cindy Grossman, posted on Twitter: “Every family member of Herschel Walker asked him not to go to the office because we all knew (some of) his past. Each.’

“He decided to give us the middle finger and air all his dirty laundry in public, all the while lying about it at the same time,” he continued.

During Walker’s appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show this week, photos were shown of the get well card the anonymous woman claimed to have given to her by Walker after her abortion — along with a check for $700.

He continued on Wednesday night in another tweet seemingly aimed at his father, saying, “Wear a condom, damn it.”

Walker told Fox host Sean Hannity Monday as an excuse for the message that he sent money to this anonymous woman: “I send money to so many people… I believe in being generous.”

However, his lawyer Robert Ingram is quoted by The Daily Beast as claiming that the left-wing media site’s latest attack is just an ongoing trend to focus on defaming black conservative candidates.

“All you want to do is run with stories to attack black conservatives. You’re targeting black conservatives,” Ingram said.

Walker told Hewitt on Thursday, “They can say many things, but I’m sure no one ever told me whether I paid for an abortion. That never happened.’

The woman who claims Walker paid for her abortion has not been named or come forward and no other source has confirmed the report.

After the article was published, Walker promised to sue The Daily Beast.

He wrote in a statement published on his social media channels: “This is an outright lie and I deny it in the strongest possible terms.”

“This is another abhorrent ax job from a journalist disguised Democratic activist who has obsessively attacked my family and tried to take me down since the start of this race,” the statement read.

It continued: “He harassed friends of mine and asked if I was the father of their children. He called my kids a ‘secret’ because I didn’t want to use them as props for a political campaign.”
