Henry Cavill fights back tears in an emotional goodbye as he bids a final farewell to The Witcher

Henry Cavill fought back tears in emotional scenes as he said his final goodbyes to his The Witcher co-stars this weekend.

Speaking at a Netflix event in Brazil, the actor, 40, gave a farewell speech to three fellow cast members Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey.

The Superman star said, “Thank you so much to everyone. Thank you. I really feel the love, and I love you too. It’s wonderful to be here.’

“I really just want to talk about my co-stars here because it’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with you again.”

“You bring so much nuance and detail to these characters, which often run the risk of being too simple, and what you did with the characters took work, care, and effort.”

Main role: The Superman star has been playing Geralt of Rivia since 2019, a magically enhanced monster hunter known as a witcher.

Henry went on to tell the trio that it was “the greatest pleasure” working with them.

He concluded: ‘So, [I] just want to say i’m going to miss you. I’m going to miss you very much.’

This series marks the Superman star’s final appearance as a beast hunter before Liam Hemsworth takes over the lead role for season four.

The beloved series follows the journey of a mutated monster and witch hunter as he travels through mythical lands to slay supernatural beasts.

Geralt, played by Henry, is one of the few remaining Witchers on the continent and he struggles to make his way in the evil world as others often misunderstand him.

The trailer opens with a voiceover from Geralt saying, “Neutrality, it won’t help you get a statue, but it sure will help keep you alive.”

The Witcher is shown traveling on horseback alongside characters Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan), as they adjust to their new life together as a family.

The trio are shown traveling through barren landscapes while sharing tender moments mixed with daring sword fights and perilous obstacles.

In an ominous voiceover, The Witcher reveals “the dangers we have seen portend an even more menacing future.”

In season three, as monarchs, mages, and beasts of the continent battle to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri under, determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it.

Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers.

Instead, they discover that they have landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and betrayal.

They must fight back, risk everything – otherwise they risk losing each other forever.

Joey Batey returns as Jaskier, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Anna Shaffer as Triss, and Kim Bodnia as Vesemir.

It was announced that Liam, 33, would replace Henry in the Netflix series in October 2022.

Fans are now on the hunt for Henry to play another iconic role: James Bond.

He previously revealed that he was considered for the role in 2005 but lost out to Daniel Craig.
