Heartwarming video of bride being walked down the aisle by her brother goes viral

A girlfriend shared a moving video documenting the emotional moment her little brother walked her down the aisle in place of her father, who is a quadriplegic, paralyzed in all four limbs.

In the poignant clip, Nicole Kopsidas, a 27-year-old woman from Ohio, was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Matthew, on their wedding day due to their father’s illness, but she insisted the timing was very ” emotional and special.” while her father sat in her wheelchair down the hall.

In an interview with Well-informed personThe bride spoke about the touching moment as social media users fought back tears over the emotional start to her wedding ceremony.

“I knew it was going to be emotional and very special,” he said.

‘There was not a dry eye in the house. It was really special, and my dad was really happy that we did it that way because he got to see everyone in the room.’

Nicole noted that her father was diagnosed multiple sclerosis when she was just 2 years old and as she got older the condition worsened.

Symptoms include numbness, tingling, mood swings, memory problems, pain, fatigue, blindness, and/or paralysis.

For the past eight years of the bride’s life, her father has lived as a quadriplegic and has relied on his parents and children for his care.

“My parents got divorced before my dad got sick, but my mom, my brothers and I help out weekly to make sure he’s well taken care of,” she told Insider.

After Nicole and her husband got engaged, she began to wonder how her father would see her down the aisle, despite being confined to a wheelchair.

Nicole noted that her top priority was keeping her father comfortable on his special day and that he was the one who suggested that she watch her daughter walk down the aisle with her son.

Speaking of Matthew, she said: ‘He’s always been the baby of the family, so he was really special.

“I was honored and excited, but probably a little sad that my dad couldn’t come with me.

“I feel like he knew I was going to ask him, so he was happy to do it for our family,” she added.

Before the ceremony, Nicole said she shared a ‘first look’ with her father, which was very heartfelt and special for both of them.

After that moment with her dad, it was time for Nicole to be escorted down the aisle by her little brother.

The emotional video, recorded by Nicole’s mother and viewed more than 14.5 million times on social media, showed the stunning bride standing next to her younger brother, who was holding back tears.

Her father waited at the altar with tears welling up in her eyes, once her sons approached her, Nicole leaned down and gave her father a kiss on the cheek.

She said: “My dad was waiting for us at the altar and it was the most special moment,” before adding that it was “a moment” I would “never forget.”

She stressed that she was grateful that her father was able to be at their wedding that day, adding that they “cried a lot.”

“I’m his eldest son and we didn’t know if he was going to make it to my wedding day, so we both cried a lot,” Nicole said.

As for the viral video, Nicole knew her family would appreciate it, but she never thought it would win the hearts of so many strangers.

“I knew it would get a lot of attention from our family and friends because it’s really special, and they all love my dad and have supported him, but I didn’t think it would be seen by millions,” he added.
