Powerball: Half of Australians expected to buy Lotto ticket for $200million jackpot

As much as $200 million will be up for grabs during Thursday’s Powerball after no one won last week’s drawing.

Last week’s massive $150 million haul didn’t produce a Division 1 winner, but more than five million prizes worth more than $103 million were won in Divisions Two to Nine.

The upcoming record jackpot is the largest prize offered by any Australian lottery game in history.

As many as half of all Australian adults are expected to take part in the draw, meaning millions will compete to become the country’s next multi-millionaire.

The sales peak of last week’s $150 million Powerball drawing was at 6:15 p.m. on the day of the drawing, when 7,445 tickets were sold in one minute.
