Gugu Mbatha-Raw cuts a stylish figure in a red mini dress at the first ever Soho House Awards

Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Ellie Bamber led the stars in attendance at the first ever Soho House Award at the private member’s club in London on Thursday.

The ceremony, which was hosted by actor Stanley Tucci, 61, saw emerging talent and established figures, in film, art and TV honoured for their work over the last 12 months. 

Loki actress Gugu, 39, looked incredible while hitting the red carpet in a sequinned mini dress as she flashed a glimpse of her toned legs.

The scarlet ensemble featured a chic square neck and was also embellished with silver beads.

Gugu accentuated her natural beauty with a hint of make-up as she wore her raven tresses in a bun. 

Carrying the colour story into her jewellery, the stunner opted for large silver and diamond earrings which she teamed with a striking cocktail ring.

With ten categories there will be two award winners per category, one awarded to an established name and a success star. The winners were selected by a committee of Soho House experts from film, art, music, content and creative.

Meanwhile actress Ellie, 25, who won best actress, posed up a storm in a black halterneck dress with pleated and distressed detailing.  

The Nocturnal Animals star wore her red locks in a gentle wave as she slipped her feet into silver heels. 

Recipients included John Boyega for Best Actor, Yasmin Finney for Breakthrough actress, make-up mogul Charlotte Tillsbury won for her entrepreneurship and actor Paapa Essiedu received the trailblazer award.   

Toned: Ellie flashed her toned arms in the strapless dress which featured white seamed details as she posed at the awards event

Ab-tastic: Elsewhere, Frankie Bridge opted for a more laid-back ensemble, teaming a cropped white shirt with light-washed jeans as she arriced for the awards

Off  she goes! Following the awards, Frankie was spotted leaving with her gift bag in tow

Host: The evening was hosted by Hollywood star Stanley Tucci who was joined by his wife Felicity Blunt 

Hollywood stars Daniel Kaluuya, 33, joined best actor winner John Boyega, 30, at the inaugural event.

The actors both appeared to have decided on a dress code as they donned similar  double-breasted coats for the evening.

Tom Daly looked smart in a white suit and was joined by actress Michaela Coel as well as Heartstoppers’ Kit Connor and Yasmin Finney, who won the best breakthrough actress prize.

Beaming: John appeared to be in high spirits before taking his seat at the event

The special evening featured lively musical performances from Soho House Award winners including Self Esteem opening the ceremony as well as Michael Kiwanuka.

Winners will be chosen by a committee of Soho House experts across film, art, music, content and creative, with one specific award – the Breakthrough Entrepreneur Award – selected from a shortlist, which includes nominees submitted by participants of Soho Mentorship and Soho Chance. Both initiatives are part of House Foundations, Soho House’s ESG programme, which has a focus on providing opportunities to access the creative industries for people from lower-socioeconomic or underrepresented backgrounds. 

Winner: Actor Paapa Essiedu was awarded the Trailblazer award
