GTA 6 trailer breaks Guinness record for YouTube views in 24 hours

All the buzz around it Grand Theft Auto 6According to the official reveal, it was the most viewed non-music video on YouTube in the first 24 hours of publication Guinness World Records.

Only 90 seconds long, the Grand Theft Auto 6 debut was viewed more than 90 million times after one day. It also holds the record for the most liked video game trailer on YouTube with 8.9 million likes on its first day, a ratio that suggests a large percentage of views were organic rather than ad-based.

The video has been viewed 121 million times at the time of publication. If you're one of the few who missed it, you might as well give it a few more.

Mr. Beast previously held the title of “most non-music video YouTube views in 24 hours” with “Every Country On Earth Fights For $250,000.” uploaded in August 2023. a screenshot posted on Reddit shows that GTA6 broke Mr.'s record Beast in just 13 hours. I'm suddenly very happy for the developers at Rockstar Games?

The performance is still impressive when we include music videos. Only two such uploads were collected more views over the course of their first 24 hours online than the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, according to YouTube, and they are both from South Korean boy band BTS. 'Butter' and 'Dynamite' received 108 million and 101 million views respectively in their first days on YouTube.

While Guinness hasn't proven to be a consistently reliable source, a look back at recent big game revelations helps support the record-breaking claim, at least compared to other game trailers. It's hard to find 24-hour game trailer figure information for comparison, but it's easy to assume Grand Theft Auto 6 blew them out of the water based on lifetime views for reveals of equally highly anticipated releases. Here are some recent tent poles that came out:

Even the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5perhaps the only game whose expectations matched those of its sequel in recent memory has only amassed 103 million views after more than a decade.

Nothing, at least when it comes to video games, seems to parallel the excitement Grand Theft Auto 6 over a year after launch. Please pace yourself.
