Whoa, whoa, NO!
A condo manager who intervened in a dispute over putting up Christmas decorations attacked a tenant with a hammer in the Brazilian city of Paranoá last week.
The violent outburst occurred after an elderly resident decided to decorate the building despite the objections of some tenants.
She was allowed to continue with the exhibition, with the exception of the winding corridors near the residents’ apartments.
The cheerful tenant decided to decorate the hallways anyway, angering a resident on the third floor, who ripped apart the ornaments that adorned his door and hallway.
When the older woman noticed they had been removed, she returned to replace the decorations, which led to an argument between her and the tenant on the third floor.
Then the building’s manager, Jacó Pereira, intervened.
Surveillance footage appeared to show Pereira hanging an ornament in a hallway while arguing with the resident on the third floor.
When the two argued, the building manager attacked the tenant with a hammer.

“I was able to defend myself by holding the hammer,” said the unknown resident G1 said, noting that he avoided injuries.
The building is no stranger to tenant management.
In October 2021, the then manager, Gláucia Kele, was contacted by 57-year-old resident Cosme da Silva about the loud music being played in her car in the building’s parking lot.
During the argument, Kele hit da Silva with an iron bar and da Silva responded by stabbing Kele and her family members.
The case, which is being investigated as attempted murder, remains open.
