Gold Coast road rage: Watch the wild moment a motorist rams into a ute before allegedly chasing men down the street with a knife

Wild footage has emerged of a motorist who allegedly chased three men while armed with a knife after a terrifying road rage incident.

The video, filmed by a shocked bystander on the Gold Coast, showed 23-year-old Daniel Steven Wesley May, who allegedly rammed his Toyota Corolla into a Mazda BT-50 before chasing three men with a knife about 4.40pm on Saturday.

The Southport man has since been arrested and remanded in custody, charged with multiple serious offenses in relation to the alleged incident in Hollywell.

The video started with two men running after him and shouting at the black Toyota, believed to be driven by May, as it drove along Oxley Drive.

The Toyota turned around and drove back along the wrong side of the road towards the men before climbing the median and crashing into a parked car.

Three men approached the Toyota before a shirtless May jumped out of the vehicle and chased the men down the road, allegedly armed with a knife.

No one was injured during the incident.

May was filmed getting it returned to his car and fled the scene.

The incident was reported to police and following an investigation, May was arrested on Sunday at a house in the Logan suburb of Springwood, south of Brisbane.

May was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence, endangering the safe use of a vehicle by throwing an object and being armed to cause fear.

He was refused bail and faced Southport Magistrates Court on Monday where his case was briefly mentioned.

The case was postponed until March 12. May remains in custody.

May previously escaped conviction for a previous road rage incident in December after he threw a screwdriver and damaged another driver’s car due to ‘a bad day at work’.

Magistrate Sarah Thompson ordered May to carry out 80 hours of community service after she pleaded guilty to one count of dangerously driving a vehicle, malicious damage and breaching bail.
