George is supported by Passenger, best known for his 2012 single, Let Her Go.

It comes after the Shotgun hitmaker waded into the BRIT Awards gender neutrality line amid a firestorm of criticism.

He had to face music on Friday after he was called out on Twitter for being nominated for the BRIT Artist of the Year award, while female stars were turned down.

George appeared on Lorraine and said the BRIT panel has done a “great job recognizing talent” despite the nominees in his category being made up exclusively of men. after a gender-neutral review.

Viewers took to Twitter in fury to question the organizers’ decision not to feature a single female act and, awkwardly for George, many said they thought Dua Lipa, Raye and Florence & The Machine were worth more than him.

Oh no! It was revealed that he had been diagnosed with acute vertigo after feeling ‘unbelievably unwell’, but fans were assured that his tickets would still be valid for a rescheduled date.

One wrote: ‘Are the BRITs really saying they don’t think there are any better female artists in this country than George Ezra?’ Another added: “You can’t tell me George Ezra is better than Raye or Dua or any other female artist.”

WHAT IS VERTIGO?

Vertigo is a symptom, rather than a condition. It is the feeling that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning.

This sensation may be barely noticeable, or it may be so intense that it is difficult for you to keep your balance and perform daily tasks.

Vertigo attacks can come on suddenly and last a few seconds, or they can last much longer. If you have severe vertigo, your symptoms may be constant and last for several days, making normal life very difficult.

Other symptoms associated with vertigo may include dizziness, feeling sick, or loss of balance.

Vertigo is most commonly caused by a problem with the way balance works in the inner ear, although it can also be caused by problems in certain parts of the brain.

A third viewer said: “BRIT stands for Boys Receive Industry Trophies” while another wrote: “It’s an absolute disgrace that no woman is nominated for artist of the year on The Brits.” It’s even more embarrassing that it’s George Ezra.

During the interview, Lorraine Kelly said: ‘There’s a lot of fuss about all the nominees being boys, but it is what it is.

“We also have a lot of amazing women in the other categories, but it doesn’t matter if it’s him, she, it, them. If he’s a better artist, he’s a better artist.

George replied: ‘Exactly, you’ve hit the nail on the head. He hadn’t looked at the other artists until this morning, because people had been talking about the nominations.

“If you look at the artists in all categories, it’s incredible, it’s eclectic.

“I don’t know, I don’t have the answer, but I think overall they’ve done a great job of reconnaissance.”

Nominated for Entertainer of the Year alongside George were Central Cee, Fred Again, Stormzy and Harry Styles, who won.

The category saw snubs for the likes of Dua Lipa, Charli XCX and Florence & The Machine, despite Adele taking top prize last year, the first time she submitted her gender-neutral revision.

In 2021, the BRIT Awards announced that they would be removing their male and female categories, in a bid to celebrate artists “solely for their music”.
