Gavin Newsom’s wife reveals that she killed her older sister in a tragic golf cart accident

Jennifer Siebel Newsom has first opened up about her older sister’s death in Hawaii, revealing that she accidentally ran her over with a golf cart.

Governor Gavin Newsom’s wife admitted to playing on the carts with several other children, including her sister Stacia, in Hawaii days before her seventh birthday in 1981.

The second eldest of five daughters, Siebel Newsom, 48, had been on a family vacation when she backed up and killed her brother, whom she hadn’t seen hiding behind her buggy.

Talking to the Los Angeles Timesshe wrapped her arms around herself as she told the story, expanding on how she felt the need to push herself in all aspects of her life to make amends for her sister’s death.

“I felt the pressure to be perfect, to make my parents forget, to be two daughters instead of one,” she said.

“I’m sure there was a sense of guilt on the part of the survivor, and I’m sure in my subconscious it’s like I have to make up for that loss.

“And I have to do something to improve other people’s lives or have an impact double my own life, which is kind of crazy.” I don’t use the word “crazy”. But you know, it’s ambitious.

“I realized that I am very hard on myself. I realized you can’t blame a 6- [or] 7 years old. You can’t ask them to understand things.’

Siebel Newsom went to Stanford, where she earned her MBA, and played for the U.S. Soccer under-23 college and youth team.

She also opened up that her case against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein was dismissed in 2022.

Weinstein, 70, was charged with sexual assault in relation to model Lauren Young in 2013, and rape by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom, in 2005.

Jurors were unable to rule on both of their charges last year, meaning the disgraced movie mogul faces the possibility of a new trial for those incidents.

She alleged that Weinstein sexually assaulted her at a 2005 rally, telling her to “calm down, this is going to make you feel better.”

Siebel Newsom testified that Weinstein raped her when she was 31 and was trying to build a career as an actor and producer.

She unexpectedly found herself alone with Weinstein in a suite at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, where she had agreed to go with him to a meeting.

At the trial, she said she assumed others would be there and talk about her career.

He came out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, wearing nothing underneath, and began groping her as he masturbated. Ms Newsom said she faked an orgasm to end the ordeal.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, she said, “It was a horrifying experience. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

“I felt like I could hopefully be helpful and shine a light on, you know, what’s wrong in our society when you have serial killers who get away with rape, assault, and harassment for decades.

And so this was just, I felt like, a way that I could contribute, because I [had] kept relatively quiet except with friends and peers.”

She started her acting career in the lay 2000s and landed a guest role in several episodes of the TV show ‘Life’ starring Damian Lewis.

The aspiring actress appeared in an episode of “Mad Men” as party girl Juanita Carson, in addition to more than a dozen other small roles over nearly a decade.

Gavin Newsom said he was “incredibly proud” of his wife for speaking out against Weinstein after the verdict.

He released a statement encouraging others to “keep fighting to ensure survivors are supported and their voices are heard.”

Speaking of her husband’s role, she said, “I want California to be that shining light on the hill.

“A place where we have achieved equality and women are at the tables of power, where there is no longer a pay gap, less violence against women, where we have institutionalized family-friendly workplace policies in government and the private sector, recognition that people have lives outside the work, and where your kids are known for having the best start in life.”
