Former Home and Away star Bec Hewitt set to ‘head back to Hollywood’ as tennis WAG gives acting ‘one last big push’

Tennis WAG Bec Hewitt may be planning to return to the cameras.

The former Home and Away star, 41, is reportedly considering ‘one last big move’ to make it in Hollywood. women’s Day.

Bec is said to have been inspired to return to acting after attending the Wimbledon Championships, where she and husband Lleyton, 43, sat in the Royal Box surrounded by celebrities including Kate Middleton, Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch and Julia Roberts.

“It was the biggest hint of all that she is dreaming of a career comeback after playing second fiddle to her husband for years,” a source told the publication.

According to the insider, Bec now has more free time, now that her children Mia (18), Cruz (15) and Ava (13) are older, so a new attempt at acting would be perfect for her.

They also claimed that making her career in Hollywood was Bec’s “holy grail.”

She first came to national prominence in 1998 when she landed the role of Hayley Smith in the long-running soap opera Home and Away.

Bec quickly became a fan favourite and was voted most popular actress in the series Logie in 2005. Coincidentally, within a few months she became pregnant with her character on the soap and left the series to become a full-time mother.

Aside from an appearance on Dancing With The Stars and presenting Channel Nine’s travel show Helloworld in 2018, Bec has largely remained off-camera.

However, she recently ventured back into acting in the Australian thriller 13th Summer, which is due for release soon, opposite Georgie Parker and Nathan Phillips.

The insider claimed that she loves acting in her home country, but that due to limited opportunities in Australia, she is keen to make her mark on Tinseltown.

“She realized she still had plenty of fuel in her tank,” they added.

It was also claimed that Bec would like to land a role on a popular American soap opera, and that she would use that as ‘security’ while she explores bigger acting opportunities in the US.

“She could even convince some of the longest-running shows, like Days of Our Lives, to bring a new Australian character into their storyline. That would give her a bit of security as she explores the American market,” the insider added.

The impetus for this was reports late last year that Lleyton and Bec were planning to convert their tabloid fame into TV success.

The glamorous couple are said to have been inspired by David and Victoria Beckham’s Netflix documentary series and are hoping to emulate its success with their own revealing TV show.

“Bec is very organised and has great home videos. I know they’ve done something like this in the past,” a friend of the couple told New Idea.

“They watched the Netflix series about David Beckham and loved it. I’m sure it got them thinking.”
