Gerard Whateley has been labeled the ‘ultimate good guy’ after revealing his role during a meeting in a Bunnings car park.

The footy broadcaster, who hosts AFL 360 on Fox Footy, told how he hit another car during a trip to the shop.

However, he chose to wait in the parking lot for two hours until the owner returned and exchanged information.

“I can’t believe you sat there for two hours, that’s the ultimate good guy test,” Collingwood legend Nathan Buckley said on Whateley’s SEN radio show on Tuesday.

“Why didn’t you just leave a note?” You didn’t think of that?’

Whateley said he never considered leaving a note at the time.

‘It was a total moral dilemma. Because I’m sitting there going, what’s that going to look like when I leave,” he said.

‘I ducked in and did the errands I had to do. If I miss here, it’s going to be really bad. I hadn’t thought to take the pen and paper at Bunnings and put it on the windscreen.’
