A shocking video shows a group of Tennessee police officers brutally beating a man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend during a charity walk.

Jackson Hopper, 26, was accused of shooting Ellie Young, 22, in her Jeep after she participated in the breast cancer awareness walk at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee.

Hopper led police on a multi-county chase until his car was turned over during a PIT maneuver.

Sheriff Brian Kelley of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office shared a public service announcement Facebook addressing the images and stating that an internal affairs investigation will be conducted.

Kelley stated that any officer misconduct will be investigated through review of body-worn and vehicle-mounted cameras, reports, witness statements and “any other available source.”

He further added that the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office “never condones staff misconduct,” but that they “understand that all sources of information must be evaluated before drawing any conclusions.”

Hopper allegedly pulled up behind Young’s parked car and fired two shots into her vehicle before firing another round as she lay on the ground, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young’s family told them Action news 5 that she and Hopper had recently broken up.

Hopper is charged with reckless driving, aggravated assault, driving against traffic on the roadway, speeding above the speed limit, resisting arrest, disobeying a stop sign, filing a false report, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm when committing dangerous situations. misdemeanor and misdemeanor evading arrest.

She told Action News 5, “She was passionate, determined and selfless. The joy she brought to every room was simply contagious to everyone around her.

“Her bright future was to be a doctor, something she looked forward to as long as I knew her.”
