Rapper Flo Rida is asking for prayers for his son who ‘miraculously survived’ after the child he fell several stories from the window of his mother’s apartment in New Jersey.
Zohar Dillard, 6, remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit after suffering multiple fractures, a lacerated liver, internal bleeding and collapsed lungs in the March 4 incident.
On Thursday night, Flo Rida posted a update to her Instagram stories where she expressed her appreciation for the ‘concerns and prayers’ she received for her son.
“Great day, thanks to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son,” the post read. He is receiving the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall. He asks for his continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation, but I would appreciate it if this remains a private matter.
The fall was revealed in a lawsuit filed by Zohar’s mother, Alexis Adams, who is suing the complex’s owners, managers, a construction company and a window installer, alleging that the windows “represent a dangerous condition.”

James Lucas, 40, who lives on the sixth floor of the apartment block, told DailyMail.com that he was downstairs buying Chinese food at the time of the incident.
Ambulances and emergency crews filled the vacant lot around the building where the father of three said he saw Zohar, who appeared “lifeless” sprawled on the concrete.
“He was on the ground, not moving, I thought he wasn’t going to live,” Lucas said.
“I was downstairs buying Chinese food and there were ambulances everywhere and I had no idea what had happened, I just saw the boy, he looked lifeless.”
‘I didn’t even realize it was the fifth floor until later.’
Lucas, who shares an apartment similar to Adams’, said the building’s windows have a sill that a child “could definitely stand on.”
“Definitely, if you’re a kid, you can stand on that sill, but my kids haven’t been here, I think they should look at the window guards for sure,” he said.

“I was only there for a few minutes, he was there when I got there.”

One woman, who has a daughter who lives a few doors down from Adams and wished to remain anonymous, told DailyMail.com she was shocked to hear the news.
“I’m just visiting my daughter, but I remember her mentioning it, I didn’t realize it was the fifth floor,” he said.
The woman, who said she was just visiting her daughter, said the apartment shares a “similar layout” to other apartments on the floor.
Allowing DailyMail.com into the apartment, the woman said there were two sets of three windows in the one-bedroom unit.
Each window has a sliding glass panel, a screen and a sill. It is unclear from which window Zohar fell from in his apartment.
The woman said that opening and closing her daughter’s windows is “quite difficult”, adding that she cannot talk on other units on the floor.
“I’m so shocked that a child was able to open these windows if that’s what happened,” she said. These also have screens. What a horrible accident.
Adams said in a statement: “As a single parent of a child with special needs, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces.

The suit seeks damages, attorneys’ fees and money for Zohar’s medical bills. He claims that the building’s owners, managers, and maintenance companies failed to install the correct window guards in the apartment.
