Fleur East breaks down in tears as she’s surprised on Hits Radio

She hopes to surprise viewers with three stellar dances.

And for her last Hits Radio show before Strictly Come Dancing, Fleur East was left in tears after her late father’s brother Sean surprised her in the studio.

The singer, whose father Malcolm passed away in 2020, couldn’t contain her emotions when her uncle said her brother would be “hugely proud” of her, after she survived several balls to land a place in the Strictly final.

During the show, Fleur’s co-hosts, James and Matt, revealed that they had a series of messages of support for her before she hit the dance floor.

After hearing a series of messages from relatives, including her mother and sister Kesha, who told her how proud they were of her, Fleur was told there would be one last surprise.

When James and Matt invited him into the studio, Uncle Sean told a tearful Fleur, ‘Your dad would be on Cloud 9 today, wouldn’t he?

‘Although you’ve had a bit of a rough old journey, it hasn’t been the easiest experience, has it?’

He went on to tell listeners: ‘Fleur’s dad would have been enormously proud, he would have been ecstatic. It was his favorite show. I don’t think he could talk, he would be so excited.

‘It’s going to be an exciting weekend, her dad would have been absolutely delighted, so just go out there, get the votes and win, please!’

Look who it is! After listening to a series of messages from the family, including her mother and her sister Kesha, Fleur was told there would be one last surprise.

Sweet moment: James and Matt invited him into the studio and Uncle Sean tearfully told Fleur, “Your dad would be on Cloud 9 today, right?”

An emotional Fleur laughed through her tears and replied, ‘No pressure, Uncle Sean!’

Struggling to hide her emotions, a tearful Fleur broke down and admitted: “I think we really needed something like this, Strictly just brought so much joy to our family’s lives and it came at the perfect time.

“And the fact that it was Dad’s favorite show was the best thing and it means so much more for that reason.”

Fleur narrowly clinched a spot in the Strictly final after beating Will Mellor at the dance, having finished in the bottom two times multiple times during the competition.

Touching: Struggling to hide her emotions, a tearful Fleur broke down, admitting, “I think we really needed something like this, Strictly just brought so much joy to our family’s lives.”

Emotional: Added: “And the fact that it was Dad’s favorite show was the best and it means so much more for that reason.”

On Saturday, Fleur will compete alongside Helen Skelton, Molly Rainford and Hamza Yassin in the Strictly final, with each couple performing three dances in a bid to win the Glitterball trophy.

For her The judges’ choice, Fleur and fellow pro Vito Coppola will reprise their Samba with Arrow’s Hot Hot Hot.

The couple will then again perform their Couples Choice to Destiny’s Child Megamix, which earned the series’ only perfect score thus far.

Then, for their long-awaited Showdance, Fleur and Vito will perform to Sigma’s Find Me with Birdy.
