Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania insisted he is not “woke” and that squatters have “no rights,” amid outrage over a rise in home burglaries that have led to intruders claiming residency.
“Squatters have no rights,” the liberal lawmaker told the newspaper New York Post. “How can you even pretend that this is anything other than just breaking the law?”
“It’s weird that when you go on a long trip for 30 days, and someone breaks into your house and suddenly you have rights,” he added. ‘This is crazy. If someone stole your car and then held it for 30 days, do you now have any rights one way or another?”
“I’m not awake,” Fetterman claimed.

Recently, a pair of New York City squatters sued a woman whose home they broke into last month, installing mattresses, a flat-screen TV and a massage table in the $530,000 home they claimed they had legally rented months earlier and refused to to leave. .
Fetterman also broke with the liberal crime policies that conservatives blame for the fatal shooting of NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller.
“I’ve been to police funerals,” Fetterman said. “If this person is convicted, he will spend the rest of his life in prison and never have the chance to get out.”
Diller was allegedly murdered last month by a man who had already faced 21 arrests.

“If this person is convicted, he will spend the rest of his life in prison and never have the opportunity to get out,” Fetterman concluded. “When you have such well-established data, it serves no greater purpose to allow people who are abusive, insulting, insulting and not hold them accountable.”
Fetterman also broke with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer over his call for new elections in Israel.

Progressives had hailed Fetterman’s victory over Dr. Mehmet Oz, thinking the former lieutenant governor, a longtime advocate of LGTQ causes and legalized cannabis, would be a champion for their causes.
But in recent days he has taken a right-wing position on some issues, especially after the outbreak of the war between Israel and Gaza.
On Thursday, he voiced his opposition to President Biden’s warning that future aid to Israel could be conditional.
“In this war against Hamas, there are no conditions for Israel,” he said.
Recently, Fetterman lost three of his top communications staffers to other left-wing offices.
