Female tech worker, 27, Kimberly Wong is found dead in the San Francisco apartment she shared with her boyfriend – as cops investigate ‘domestic violence homicide’

A 27-year-old San Francisco woman has been found dead in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend, with police investigating her death as a “domestic violence homicide.”

Kimberly Wong was found unresponsive when San Francisco Police Department officers conducted a welfare check on her House on Clay Street in the Presidio Heights neighborhood Thursday around 7 p.m.

When first responders arrived, they attempted life-saving efforts on Wong, but she was pronounced dead. The San Francisco Standard reported.

A neighbor told the local news outlet KTVU that Wong owned the apartment and that her boyfriend had moved into the apartment two years ago. They said Wong was the first person to welcome them when they moved here.

No arrest has been made and no suspect details have been officially released.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Wong worked in product design at plaid, a financial services company. She also worked at Splunk and graduated from the University of Washington.

Neighbors and colleagues of Wong were devastated when they heard the news of her death.

'Someone so young and so smart. It's just, 'Why?'” said Alberto Forero, a former colleague who sat next to Wong. “It's so pointless.”

Forero said the pair would create software together. He described her as “positive, smart and energetic.”

He shared a photo of the couple kayaking together during a business trip, the news outlet reported.

Another neighbor said Wong was “the last person I would expect something like this to happen to.”

Wong had enjoyed word games, crossword puzzles and played the piano.

Beverly Upton, head of the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium, called Wong's death a “tragedy” and said “they are hoping for an arrest.”

Red roses were placed outside Wong's apartment on Friday.
