Fears for Barron Trump as critics warn Donald’s youngest son is now ‘fair game’ and express shock at Melania for allowing him to enter politics

Social media exploded after hearing the news that Barron Trump is officially entering politics as he will serve as his father’s delegate at the Republican National Convention later this year.

Barron, who just turned 18 in March, was chosen in mid-July as one of 41 delegates from the state of Florida to the national meeting of Republicans in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He will be one of an estimated 2,429 delegates expected to officially nominate his father as the Republican nominee for the 2024 race.

This led many on social media to both worry and revel in the fact that they felt this meant that Trump’s youngest son was now ‘fair game’ to attack and that his mother would let her son open to such criticism.

Rob Vorcek wrote: ‘I am convinced this will end very badly. He is now fair game for the media. I’m actually surprised. I thought [Barron’s mother] Melania would do anything to prevent this, but if Barron, now an adult, personally made the decision to join his father’s circus, then so be it.’

Others compared Barron’s treatment to that of the children of Presidents Clinton and Obama.

“Barron Trump is fair game,” one X user wrote. ‘I repeat fair play. Does not matter. You joined Chelsea at the age of thirteen. You went after the Obama girls as kids and are still attacking them. This anchor baby deserves nothing less. He’s a laboratory experiment gone wrong.’

“Before Republicans clutch their pearls over what Barron Trump is after again, maybe they should apologize to Malia and Sasha Obama, Chelsea Clinton, David Hogg, Greta Thunberg and every little girl they forced into labor.” wrote another.

Tristan Snell joked, “By the end of this year, Barron Trump may be a fake Trump voter in Florida — after Biden wins Florida in November.”

Barron has been largely kept out of the public eye but was thrust into the spotlight this week after a judge postponed his father’s hush money trial in New York so he could attend Barron’s high school graduation ceremony on May 17.

Regardless of age, the first son often receives harsh treatment on social media from liberals and even some members of the mainstream media.

Former NBC News executive Mike Sington said Barron was “fair game” after the anniversary that marks adulthood. He later deleted the tweet after facing harsh backlash and criticism online.

Sington said Newsweek: ‘I posted that he is now ‘fair game’, meaning as an adult he is ‘fair game’ because of the criticism from the press.

Trump has been subjected to death threats from those who oppose his father’s actions as president.

He currently lives in Florida with his parents and is considering which college to attend with the help of his mother Melania.

Barron spent much of his childhood almost completely out of the spotlight, as much of his adolescence took place during his father Donald Trump’s tenure in the White House.

He was the first boy to grow up in the White House since JFK Jr. in 1963 – and Barron lived through many of his family’s scandals during his teenage years.

In January 2018, he was not yet 12 when the media was awash with porn star Stormy Daniels’ claims that she had an affair with Donald just four months after Barron’s birth.

During his presidency, Trump’s most ardent critics even resorted to criticizing the young boy as a means of attacking his father.

A Saturday Night Live writer who made a bad taste joke about Barron Trump on Twitter has apologized for her “inexcusable” actions after being axed from the show.

On Inauguration Day 2017, Katie Rich tweeted that the 10-year-old boy would become “this country’s first homeschool shooter,” but deleted it three hours later.

She then faced a barrage of criticism from Twitter users, who branded her “scum,” called for her account to be blocked and urged NBC to fire her.

Rich wasn’t fired, but she was suspended indefinitely from working on the show after the furor failed to subside over the weekend, an insider said Deadline Monday.

The same day she tweeted: ‘My sincere apologies for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions and offensive words. It was inexcusable and I am so sorry.”

Rich left the show in 2019 and now works as a writer on several projects.

Trump’s adult children from previous marriages have drawn criticism for their public profiles, but Barron’s young age has shielded him from much attention.
