Fearne Cotton oozes sophistication in a black and white check coat as she arrives at BBC studios – after her marriage split and tumour surgery

Fearne Cotton looked effortlessly chic as she arrived at the BBC studios in London on Tuesday.

The 43-year-old broadcaster left for the capital on Tuesday after a turbulent few months following health problems and the breakdown of her marriage.

She oozed sophistication as she stepped out in a chic black and white checked long winter coat, complete with shoulder pads.

Fearne paired the jacket with black flares and trendy light blue suede sneakers, as well as a striking burgundy and blue patterned scarf.

She finished her look with a vibrant multicolored tartan Vivienne Westwood toe bag and accessorized with a pair of gold hoop earrings.

Her appearance comes shortly after Fearne underwent surgery to remove two benign tumors from her jawline, at the same time as Jesse Wood broke up her marriage last year.

Fearne underwent the operation in December 2024, just a few days before announcing her split from husband Jesse after ten years of marriage.

She admitted that she is “so grateful that she is healing” as she showed off the scar along her ear.

She captioned the post: “The human body is incredible. In less than three weeks you will hardly notice where I had the tumor removed. I almost feel normal. My ear is still quite numb and my face is a little sensitive, but other than that I feel fine.

‘Only swipe if you want to see the gradual stages of healing. It’s not terribly gruesome, but it certainly looks worse than photo number 1. I found the whole process fascinating and am very grateful that the surgery went well and that the tumor was benign.

‘My surgeon Professor Oflynn made me feel extremely calm and all the nurses were complete angels. Nurse Jackie was especially wonderful when I was in the hospital, telling me to get off my phone and take a nap, etc. I needed a firm statement every now and then.

‘I am grateful that I am healing well and will always wear this scar with pride. A reminder to slow down and take care of myself’.

Before the surgery, Fearne gave no indication of her marital problems as she told followers: “Hey gang, I’m out of action for a while due to surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago, but this year I noticed it getting bigger.

‘It turns out to be a benign tumor and a small one above it on the salivary gland. I have a positive feeling about it and will take the opportunity to rest and slow down.

She captioned the post: “The human body is incredible. In less than three weeks you will hardly notice where I had the tumor removed.”

‘If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is wrong, always have it checked. I’m so glad I did because the longer you let these things sit, the more complicated things become.

‘Of course it’s so strange that Davina told me about her tumor a few months ago and weeks later I called her because she had discovered mine. I’m not only lucky that she’s a damn good partner, but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to things like this.

“Sending you lots of love and I’ll see you soon.”

She later gave an update: ‘The operation went very well. Recover and rest. Thank you so much for all the kind messages.’

Breaking her silence about her breakup with Jesse On Caroline Hirons’ podcast last year, Fearne spoke about the ‘toxic pressure that a woman can have it all’.

After a stressful few weeks of health problems and a divorce, while running a business at the same time, Fearne admitted: ‘The pressure is enormous’.

She said: ‘There’s a lot of pressure on women to prove ourselves, that we can run businesses, I’m trying to do the same with Happy Place. But if we’re honest, the pressure is enormous.

‘I can imagine you [Caroline] being like me, there are many things I would like to do, many goals.

“I want to grow and expand in many ways, but I don’t want to feel exhausted and stressed and unable to be present in my childhood home. [I want to] spending time with my friends, having fun.

“There’s still that toxic kind of trope that women can have everything that people think.”

In the statement revealing the split, Fearne told fans that their priority was their children.

She posted on Instagram: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority is and remains our children.

“We ask that you please respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
