A woman who has been using fake tans for 15 years has mixed up six different brands because she is ‘never dark enough’, but it ended in disaster when her face turned khaki green.
BobbieJo Houston, from Blackpool, tried mixing different fake tan brands to create her own perfect bronze shade.
The 39-year-old put together a mixture of Bondi Sands, St. Moriz, St. Tropez, tanning drops, bronzing oils and Molly Mae’s Filter in the hope that her face would get a “nice tan” in the morning.
The mother said she has tried numerous tanning methods but is always disappointed when she washes it off in the morning and the color is not as dark as she would like.
Unfortunately, she found out the hard way that her experiment had failed when she woke up looking a little different than she was used to.

BobbieJo managed to get rid of all the fake tan after scrubbing her face and showing off the end results
She used TikTok to share her panic and see if anyone had a solution to her problem. To her surprise, more than five million people watched her crisis unfold.
Her 19-year-old daughter, Bella Bristol, was horrified by her mother’s fake tan nightmare, but BobbieJo initially didn’t believe it was “that bad,” adding that she would go out in public with it all over her face lubricated.
But a little later she informed her followers about the tanning progress and said: ‘Everything is going wrong, I am getting greener by the hour.
‘I’ve been tanning for over 15 years, I don’t know what’s going on. I sleep with a few towels.
“I pray it’s still not a hint of green. In the light it is khaki green. You can’t see my eyebrows at all.’
BobbieJo woke up at 8:30 the next morning and expressed her concerns as she and her daughter had a special day planned.
“I’m worried now because me and my daughter are going to a really nice place for the day,” she said.

‘We have planned the most beautiful day, afternoon tea, a lot of people are going, it’s on a cruise ship. A lot of the people will be over 70, can you imagine them seeing me?’
She also expressed concern because both she and her daughter don’t wear makeup, so she had no products to hide her vibrant fake tan.
Her white pillowcases and duvet cover also had green-colored fake tan stains on them.
BobbieJo desperately rubbed her face with several makeup wipes in an attempt to scrub away the chemicals, adding that some followers advised her to use lemon juice.
“I didn’t think it would happen, you know, I wouldn’t have left it on that long, not if I have to go somewhere, I would have washed it off sooner,” she said.

Luckily, BobbieJo was able to scrub off the fake tan in time for afternoon tea with her daughter.
She said: ‘I posted a self-tanning experiment that initially ended in disaster. Then I washed myself well, if you will.
‘Millions of viewers knew I had booked a cruise afternoon tea for my daughter and they all thought I should be there [looking] vegetable.
‘But I shocked TikTok by correcting my mistake on my face and managing to get a perfect tan.’
