Formula 1 icon Fernando Alonso fuels Taylor Swift dating rumors for a SECOND time as he posts yet another cheeky video with a cryptic reference to the music superstar
- Couple romantically linked for the first time two weeks ago
- It is the second time that Alonso refers to Swift
- F1 star was asked about her at Azerbijan GP
The rumor that Fernando Alonso is dating Taylor Swift just won’t go away – and the F1 legend has revived the speculation with a new TikTok video featuring a hidden reference to the pop star.
Alonso’s new video shows him lifting a 22 kilogram barbell in a gym as Swift’s song ’22’ plays in the background – with the two-time world champion winking at the camera and captioning the clip ‘I’m lifting 22s’ with a winking smile emoji.
It’s similar to his first video referencing Swift, which was posted a week ago and saw him scrolling through his phone listening to her hit song “Karma” before winking at his fans.
Alonso pointed out that he lifted a 22-kilogram weight in his latest TikTok video (pictured) in an obvious reference to one of Swift’s many hit songs
That clip came after he first had a romantic relationship with Swift two weeks ago in an Instagram post on the Deuxmoi account, which quoted an anonymous email: “A few Spanish magazines have posted about TS [Swift] and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso.
According to them, the couple has been dating for a week now. Nothing serious, because they’re both newly single.’
Swift made headlines when she split from his long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn earlier this month, around the same time Alonso revealed he had parted ways with his girlfriend Andrea Schlager.
Fans were over the moon with Fernando’s latest TikTok post.
“He’s using Taylor’s version! What a good boyfriend!’ one noted.
‘OMG! Look what she made you do… I think you know all too well what you’re doing. Good luck driving the getaway car on Sunday,” another wrote, referencing another Swift song.
“We appreciate Nando using the Taylors version. We like a supporting king,” a third added.
The rumors – no doubt aided by the champion driver’s videos – have gained so much traction that they were mentioned during the broadcast of last weekend’s Azerbijan Grand Prix, where Alonso finished fourth.
The rumors linking Swift (pictured at her concert in Atlanta on April 28) to Alonso have continued to grow – with more than a little help from the F1 star
Alonso was asked about the rumors at last weekend’s Azerbijan Grand Prix, and TV pundits even got in on the act by mentioning Swift’s songs in commentary
F1 pundit Karun Chandhok and his Sky Sports colleague David Croft were discussing the Spaniard’s opening lap as they joked about him and Swift.
Chandhok said: “Fernando Alonso found a little empty space for him there… with Lewis Hamilton half straight ahead.”
Croft couldn’t help but laugh when he heard his Sky Sports colleague refer to Swift’s 2014 hit song “Blank Space.”
Croft was also heard to say: ‘Alonso is the fourth fastest car at the moment, maybe some would say he’s driving a getaway car, maybe that’s causing bad blood’.
The not-so-subtle comment related to Swift’s 2017 song “Getaway Car” and her 2014 hit “Bad Blood.”
They also heard references to her songs: “Don’t Blam Me,” “Style,” “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve,” “22,” and “Mastermind.”
Unlike the Spanish F1 icon, Swift remained tight-lipped about the rumors – refusing to comment or post a single message on social media
One of the comments was: ‘Number 22 is not Alonso’s favorite car number, but a quick fact check and it could very well be.’
Crofty continued: ‘On the subject of 22, which is of course now our favorite number and number…’.
A reporter at the race also referenced Swift’s hits when he asked Alonso, “I have to ask this one or I’d leave a blank, but, and I know it’s potentially your love story and no one else’s.”
The Aston Martin driver was undeterred and replied: ‘Normally I keep my private and professional life separate. I’d rather not comment on it.’
Swift remained tight-lipped about the rumors and made no comment on the matter publicly or online.
