As Princess Beatrice is left heartbroken by her troubled ex Paolo Liuzzo’s death, the inner circle rallying round the private princess – including a stylist named ‘society’s secret weapon’ and an A-list superstar

Princess Beatrice tends to be more discreet about her personal life than younger sister Eugenie – and is certainly more private than their mother, the Duchess of York.

She rarely comments on other family members and stays away from social media.

Behind the scenes, however, the 35-year-old princess enjoys a circle of supportive – and highly influential – friends. After being left devastated by the death of her troubled ex-boyfriend Paolo Liuzzo, we look at those in her inner circle rallying around her…

Princess Beatrice chose her good friend, nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, as godmother for her daughter Sienna.

Gabriela, a Czech-born nutritionist, has three children with her financier husband, David: Maia, 11, and twins, Iris and Caspar, six. Beatrice is Iris’s godmother.

Gabriela recently told Hello magazine that the princess is a “fantastic” mother to her daughter and her stepson “Wolfie.”

“Bea has such a good heart and she is such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her,” she said.

‘Sienna is absolutely beautiful and looks just like Bea. She is very cheeky and has a very good character.’

Gabriela plans to spend time with the princess and their families in the Cotswolds this summer.

She and her fund manager husband can often be found at their home in France, where Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were guests.

The couple recently put their five-storey home in Notting Hill on the market for almost £20 million.

The nutritionist’s clientele includes Prince Harry, Ellie Goulding, Millie Mackintosh, James Blunt – and Beatrice herself.

Gabriela recently hosted a chic event at the Broadwick Soho Hotel to celebrate her second best-selling book, 2 Weeks to A Younger You, with the support of the Princess.

Olivia Buckingham

Once described as society’s ‘secret weapon’, Olivia Buckingham was hired as Beatrice’s stylist five years ago.

She has helped transform the look of the royal family by introducing her to sought-after British labels such as The Vampire’s Wife, Self-Portrait and Emilia Wickstead.

Other famous clients of Olivia include actress Carey Mulligan, model Poppy Delevingne and socialite Nicky Hilton.

‘The whole process is a collaboration when it comes to choosing the final look,’ she told MailOnline.

“I know we both believe that if a woman can feel empowered and confident through clothing, then she should be used to do so.”

Olivia is responsible for introducing Beatrice to haute couture fashion, such as the Reem Acra dress that the princess wore to the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Prince Rajwa of Jordan in 2023.

Beatrice’s new, more sophisticated styling has eschewed contrasting color ensembles and quirky headpieces – a marked departure from her previous, more idiosyncratic approach.

Alice Naylor-Leyland

Beatrice has been photographed a number of times with socialite and entrepreneur Alice Naylor-Leyland.

They have been seen leaving the exclusive club Loulou’s in Mayfair, and at a party for Alice’s luxury homeware brand, Mrs Alice.

Swiss-born Alice recently shared the news that she just had a baby girl, her fourth child, with the help of a surrogate mother.

Her husband, Thomas, is heir to a baronetcy and the Yorkshire-based Fitzwilliam landowning fortune of £176 million.

She shared a photo of the newborn’s foot and thanked the unnamed surrogate mother online, saying, “Without the kindness and courage of our precious surrogate mother and the brilliance of modern science using our own embryo, we wouldn’t be here.” ‘

Princess Eugenie

The York sisters have expressed their love and admiration for each other on numerous occasions, even if there is an occasional edge.

“She’s annoying when she wants to be, and I’m really annoying on her back,” Princess Eugenie said of Beatrice last year.

“But we love each other, best friends.”

In August, on her big sister’s 35th birthday, Eugenie, 34, shared a never-before-seen photo of the pair on Instagram with the message: ‘Happy birthday to my big sister.. love you so much xx’

Ellie Goulding

Beatrice and husband Edoardo attended a star-studded afterparty after Ellie Goulding’s concert at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this month.

The singer’s royal connections are impressive. She performed at the weddings of Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie and their mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, were among the guests at Ellie’s wedding at York Minster in 2019.

Ellie has been good friends with the York sisters for years, with the singer joining Beatrice on holiday in Jordan in 2018 together with model Karlie Kloss and designer Misha Nonoo, a friend of Meghan Markle.

Holly Branson

When Beatrice and Edoardo announced their engagement, Holly Branson was one of the first to publicly congratulate the couple.

Sir Richard Branson’s daughter Holly, 42, said the two were ‘made for each other’ in a heartfelt post shared to her Instagram account.

“So excited to hear the news that Bea and Edo are engaged,” she wrote.

‘They really are made for each other! Bea, we have had so many adventures together.

“Something tells me this is going to be your most amazing adventure yet!”

She included a series of photos documenting their friendship over the years, including several joint charity outings.

One image showed the friends as they prepared to take part in the 2010 London Marathon as part of a 34-person human race.

Karlie Kloss

American supermodel Karlie Kloss and Princess Beatrice were introduced in 2018 through their mutual friend Ellie Goulding.

They were part of a star-studded group who enjoyed an action-packed holiday in his country’s Wadi Rum desert with Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein.

Designer Misha Nonoo shared some photos of the gang riding camels and quad bikes. There was also an improvised performance by Ellie Goulding.

Later that year, Karlie and Beatrice attended the Berggruen Prize Gala in New York and were guests together at a wedding in the south of France.
