This is the boy and his two-year-old sister who were killed by the family’s two pit bulls, leaving their mother seriously injured.
Hollace Dean Bennard, five months, and Lilly Jane Bennard, two, were pronounced dead at the scene after being attacked by the dogs in Shelby County, Tennessee on Wednesday.
Their mother, Kirstie Jane Bennard, 30, of Millington, was also injured in the attack while trying to save her children and was transported to Regional One Health in ‘critical condition’ on Wednesday, police said.
A family friend told DailyMail.com on Thursday that the respiratory therapist is “monitoring there,” but declined to talk further.
Bennard’s husband, who has been married for five years, Colby, who owns a Harley-Davidson dealer in Memphis, was reportedly unharmed.

DailyMail.com has tried to reach Colby for comment and his father declined an interview.
The attack took place around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the family’s home on Sylvan Road in Millington, Tennessee, near Memphis.
It’s unclear what caused the pit bulls to become aggressive, but the family playfully referred to them as “house lions” in 2016.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to DailyMail.com on Thursday that the pit bulls are currently in Animal Control’s possession.

The investigation into the attack is still ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office declined to comment further.
Pit bulls are known for having one of the strongest bites, next to Mastiffs and Rottweilers, according to the dog diary.
The breed is also on the list of the most biting dogs, according to the Journal, alongside Chihuahuas, German Shepherds and Cocker Spaniels.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to DailyMail.com on Thursday that the pit bulls belonged to the family and are currently in Animal Control’s possession.
