Katherine Webb has gone from beauty queen to real estate developer.
The 2012 Miss Alabama USA revealed Thursday that she has opened her own real estate business — nearly a year after her former NFL quarterback husband, AJ McCarron, took a $3.94 million pay cut to play for the XFL.
After nearly four months of silence on Instagram, the 34-year-old posted snaps of herself and her partner Josh Burmeister at the site of the new Topgolf facility in Mobile, Alabama, which is set to open later this year.
“Cat where have you been?” Over the past year we have been working hard to develop our development and real estate company Bur:McCarron, and I have been working towards getting my Commercial/Resi License… and I am happy to announce that we have done both! ‘ she wrote.

“(Topgolf) is officially here in Mobile, AL and (Josh Burmeister) and our investors made it happen. We have a lot in our pipeline and I am so excited about this new chapter.”

The model rose to fame after sportscaster Brent Musburger admired her beauty during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game when her now-husband led the Alabama Crimson Tide to victory against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
McCarron was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft – the same year he married Webb.
He was a backup quarterback in the NFL for a total of eight seasons, playing for the Bengals, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans and most recently the Atlanta Falcons.
In 2021, he tore his ACL in a preseason game after signing a one-year contract with the Falcons for $4 million.
After sitting out for two seasons, he joined the XFL because he wanted his kids to be able to watch him play football.

Webb’s announcement comes nearly a year after her former NFL quarterback husband, AJ McCarron, took a $3.94 million pay cut to play for the XFL.
McCarron, who now earns an estimated $60,000 a season, explained that he joined the minor league because he wanted his sons to watch him play football instead of sitting on the bench.

McCarron and Web have three sons together, Gunnar Cruz, two, Cash Carter, four, and Raymond Anthony McCarron III, seven, whom they call Tripp.
The former college football star took a 98 percent pay cut to play for the minor league part-owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The St. Louis BattleHawks star earns about $60,000 per season, according to him ESPN.
“My six-year-old loves watching videos of me on YouTube. That’s a big reason why I chose to return this way,” he told the Postal Service St. Louis.
“I probably could have tried to come back with an NFL team and had a chance to probably make more money, but no one knows what the future holds. I’m enjoying this and it’s a great way to create some memories for me and my boys.”
McCarron became a breakout star in the XFL, earning praise from The Rock for taking a pay cut to get back on the field.
“It costs less money to sign with us through the @NFL because he wanted his little boys to see him play,” Johnson tweeted in February. Now he’s 2-0 and led his team to back-to-back thrilling last minute wins. I would say he is creating some memories for his boys. AJ’s decision means a lot to me personally.”
McCarron is also an investor in his wife’s new real estate development company, he says Business Alabama.
And if Webb’s latest post is any indication, she’s excited about their next chapter.
