Everton open discussions with free agent Andre Ayew over a move to Goodison Park

Everton and Southampton have accepted offers of £22m for Rennes’ Kamaldeen Sulemana, with the Toffees also in talks to sign Andre Ayew on a free transfer.

New Toffees boss Sean Dyche is keen to rectify the relegation-threatened club’s problems in front of goal by adding a striker in January and the club is in talks with 33-year-old striker Ayew after he canceled his contract with the Qatari club Al Sadd.

The Premier League outfit faces a race against time to register the experienced striker before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, while Ayew’s Ghanaian teammate Sulemana will decide between Everton and Southampton on Tuesday.

Ayew, formerly of West Ham and Swansea, offers a cheap and reliable goalscoring alternative for Everton with a lack of recognized strikers available to the club.

The Ghanaian attacker scored 21 goals in 89 appearances during his various spells in the English top flight.

Everton look set for a busy deadline day finish after also rivaling Southampton for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana and Sheraldo Becker at Bundesliga side Union Berlin.

Sulemana could move to England after Everton made their offer to the Ligue 1 side, although he will face competition from other Southampton fighters, who have also made an offer.

Rennes’ Ghanaian striker Kamaldeen Sulemana is the subject of offers from both Everton and Southampton.

Everton also want to try to bring in Sheraldo Becker from Union Berlin during the transfer window

The relatively unknown Becker has scored seven goals in 18 appearances so far during Berlin’s rise to second in the German top flight.

Southampton, who also want Sulemana, have made an offer to pay 22-year-old Sporting Braga striker Vitinha’s £26.4m release clause.

Rennes has decided to accept offers of around £22m from both clubs for Sulemana. The 20-year-old Ghanaian international will decide today.

Everton have also launched a £45m offer to sign midfielder Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.

Everton need some extra attacking power after a terrible season so far, languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table and naming Dyche in a bid to save the club from relegation.
