Eva Longoria gets emotional as she recalls being evacuated from home amid LA fires

Eva Longoria fought back tears in an emotional video she shared on Instagram for her 10 million followers.

The Desperate Housewives star, 49, revealed she was evacuated from her home after receiving a warning, and was now hosting several other friends who were fleeing the fire.

‘It’s been a crazy week. Devastating for so many people. So many friends who have lost many… homes. “I know they are not things, they are memories, things that people have worked very hard for,” she said.

“Anyway, we decided to evacuate because we got a warning, and then we kept getting an alarm. We have a lot of friends at my house who had to evacuate from other areas, so my house is full.

“I know a lot of people weren’t so lucky. We donated clothes, we literally emptied my pantry to go to all the places that accept donations.”

She then revealed that she will match donations to the organization This is About Humanity to $50,000 for frontline essential workers and families affected by the fires.

Eva also said that this is not the time to analyze all the things on social media about what went wrong.

“LA is strong, everyone has been so supportive in communities everywhere from Altadena to Pasadena to the Pacific Palisades. Everyone is on the street. Everyone helps. People come together in beautiful ways.

“It’s beautiful to see,” she said.

She concluded by thanking firefighters and first responders for their tireless efforts to extinguish the many fires around Los Angeles County.

“God bless all the firefighters who put their lives on the line to save our lives and our homes and to everyone who helps. Thank you,” she concluded.

In the caption of the post, Eva tagged the account of This is About Humanity.

“My heart breaks for the city of LA and the devastating fires that have affected so many lives. I will personally match $50,000 to @thisisabouthumanity’s efforts to support frontline essential workers, farmworkers, day laborers and families affected by these wildfires, she wrote.

“I hope we can come together and support these resilient members of our community. Share, repost or donate if you can. Link in bio.’

The Palisades fire started Tuesday morning and the Eaton fire in Pasadena started not long after.

The Desperate Housewives star, 49, said she wanted to give a little update

“It’s been a crazy week, devastating for so many people, so many friends who have lost a lot, and it’s not things, it’s just memories and things that people have worked really hard for,” she said

“We decided to evacuate,” she said, revealing that she had many friends who evacuated from their homes to her, adding that she knows many people were not so lucky.

She then revealed that she will match donations to the organization This is About Humanity to $50,000 for essential workers and families on the front lines affected by the fires.

More than 180,000 people in Los Angeles have been evacuated, a modest estimate of 10,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed and at least 10 people have lost their lives.

The fires were fueled by Santa Ana winds, which saw gusts of up to 80 to 100 miles per hour on Tuesday and Wednesday as firefighters tried to control the blazes.

Entire neighborhoods in Pacific Palisades and Altadena have been wiped off the map by the fires.

The Eaton Fire is 14,117 acres and 27% contained, while the Palisades Fire is 23,707 acres and only 11% contained, according to Cal Fire. A fire in the West Hills area, called the Kenneth Fire, has also been fully contained.

Many celebrities have seen their homes worth millions of dollars razed to the ground.
