Euphoria star Jacob Elordi seen in resurfaced Fashions on the Field photos

He can be a Hollywood heartthrob these days.

But ten years ago, Jacob Elordi was an unknown Australian model whose first taste of fame came at a ‘Fashions on the Field’ event during the racing season.

Photos have surfaced of the 25-year-old, best known for playing Nate Jacobs on the HBO series Euphoria, wearing rather questionable clothes on Stakes Day in 2014.

The images have been rediscovered by Instagram snark account Celebrity Spell Checkerand let the actor, then 15, receive his award.

The Brisbane native won Fashions on the Field twice as a teenager, first in 2012 and again two years later.

Several photos showed a young Elordi wearing a fedora with a white shirt, a houndstooth blazer and a bow tie.

The images were rediscovered by Instagram snark account Celeb Spellcheck and show the 15-year-old actor who received his award in 2012.

Other photos showed Jacob wearing a more sophisticated blue blazer, along with a bow tie and plaid fedora, plus white jeans and brown shoes.

Fans went wild with the throwback photos, with some saying he looked like a member of the Young Liberals, the youth wing of Australia’s Conservative Party.

“The private schoolboy energy is strong here,” one wrote, while another added, “The level of the Young Liberal aesthetic.”

“He looks like he would be mean to me,” commented one follower.

Others joked that it “must have been a rough year” on Stakes Day if Elordi could win Fashions on the Field with such a lame outfit.

“It’s the fedora for me,” wrote one fan.

At the time, Elordi was still years away from the role of Nate on Euphoria, which catapulted him to worldwide fame.

He told Britain’s GQ last month that he only had $400 left when he auditioned for the series in LA and slept in his car on Mulholland Drive.

Elordi discussed his financial problems before getting his breakout role, saying, “I didn’t book any jobs, I think I – I don’t know, had $400 or $800 left in my bank account – and Euphoria was my last audition before I went. just going home to earn some money and recover.’

Growing up in Australia, Elordi said he became fixated on acting from the age of 12, but also dreamed of playing professional rugby.

He said: ‘From the moment I did a play, I was called gay in school. But I was so confident in myself because I could do both: I was pretty good at sports and I think I was pretty good at theatre.

“I felt like I was above it, or it made me feel older. It made me wiser. I was never afraid that my peers would think I was less than a man.

“And I also did plays with girls’ schools.

“I spend my weekends with the most beautiful women in the school next door, reading the most romantic words ever written.”
