England fans have gone wild with joy on social media after seeing the delayed footage of Jude Bellingham’s tournament-saving goal against Slovakia.

England’s journey to Euro 2024 appeared to be over with just one minute left on the clock after Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia a surprise, against-the-odds lead in the first half.

The Three Lions produced one of their worst performances during Gareth Southgate’s eight-year association with the national side, but were saved from immediate elimination by Bellingham’s stunning late strike.

The Real Madrid midfielder looked tired in the second half but patiently waited for a throw-in into the penalty area and twisted his body to execute a stunning acrobatic throw.

Bellingham leapt through the air as Marc Guehi headed the ball from the front post into the centre of the penalty area, striking the ball beautifully.

“We showed the character that England have lacked in the past and we showed that today. It was very important that we got through this,” he added.
