Emma Stone revealed she ate a whopping ’60 Portuguese tarts’ as her character Bella Baxter in critically acclaimed film Poor Things.
The 35-year-old Oscar winner — who was effortlessly chic at the 2024 Producers Guild Awards — discussed the film during a Celebration of the Nominees for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures panel in LA on Saturday, per People.
During the conversation, she listed some of the complexities of the role, such as: “Figuring out how to walk or eating sixty Portuguese tarts, where the first bite is delicious, but by the end you really want to puke.”
“Or that she sees death and decay for the first time, much more challenging than the nudity, and that’s all people want to ask me about.”
The topic came up when Stone was asked if it was difficult to play “an explicitly sexual character,” and she replied that it “wasn’t.”

“Bella’s sexuality was another part of that, and the way that was going to be shot and how we were going to do it and our incredible intimacy coordinator and our closed sets and all that.”
Emma continued: ‘In some ways that was the easiest part because it was choreographed. They were fast. We knew exactly what we were doing.’
The star played Bella in the film which was released late last year in December and was directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
