Tim Mendelson, co-trustee of Taylor’s estate for more than two decades and her executive assistant, released a statement about the clothing line to Page six.
“While Elizabeth Taylor is probably best known for her glamorous red carpet style, we wanted to capture her more casual and playful side with (items) you can wear every day,” he began.
“As one of the world’s most famous women in history, her name and likeness are recognized worldwide,” he added.
“In some cases we use just her name and in other cases it is combined with her image and some of her more playful and meaningful quotes,” Mendelson concluded.
The first two t-shirt designs are called the ‘Violet Eyes’ and feature an artistic rendering of her iconic eyes above a House of Taylor logo, with one shirt in black and the other in white.
The third t-shirt features a pyramid design with an image of Taylor and her name in a rather glamorous font.
The long-sleeved T-shirt has a red heart with a white T in it on the front, and one of her iconic quotes on the back: ‘Big girls need big diamonds.’
The Collegiate Premium Crew Neck Sweatshirt is said to be a “limited edition,” though there’s no word on how many were produced for this run.
