He turned 32 and kicked off his world tour on the same night.
And Ed Sheeran looked buoyant as he celebrated with friends, including Liam Hemsworth, before taking the stage on Friday.
The Shape of You singer’s friend Paul Berrie O’Brien shared an Instagram snapshot of the trio behind the scenes as they enjoyed a few beers.
‘Show time. A couple of settlers leading up to the show. Happy birthday @teddysphotos,” she captioned the snap.
Ed kicked off his + – = ÷ x Tour, also known as The Mathematics Tour, on February 17 in Brisbane. Suncorp Stadium.
Showtime: Ed Sheeran appeared in high spirits as he shared a snapshot celebrating his birthday with his Australian friend Liam Hemsworth before taking the stage.
This will be followed by concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Australian pop sensation Budjerah Slabb will support Ed during Superstar Australian leg of his world tour this month.
The 19-year-old First Nations singer recently revealed that it was a song he wrote in the back of his car for Ed that ultimately led him to score the treasured gig.
“I got a phone call one day from my manager and they said, ‘Do you want to write a verse for an Ed Sheeran song?'” Budjerah said. the courier mail.
“I was like, ‘what? That’s pretty crazy,'” he continued.
The song, released last May, became Ed Sheeran’s 2Step hit.
‘I wrote my verse in the car right away, on the karaoke version of the song on YouTube. And they liked it.
The version of the song starring the Queensland singer currently has 147,000 views on YouTube.

It comes after Ed thrilled students at two middle schools last week when he gave a surprise performance for the youngsters in Auckland, New Zealand.
The English singer-songwriter made stops at Manurewa and Kōwhai middle schools to give students and staff a free concert.
Manurewa School shared a photo of Ed singing his hits in their packed meeting room and thanked hitmaker Shape of You for visiting.
“What an unreal moment to have a special performance by Ed Sheeran on MI today! WOW!’ the school wrote next to the image.
‘Someone who embodies our vision statement of being adventurous, risk taking, persistent and focused.’
Several parents commented that Ed’s unexpected performance was the highlight of their son’s day.
One parent gushed, ‘my son was so excited and couldn’t stop talking about it,’ while another gushed, ‘this absolutely made my girls’ year.’
