Callum Highway has a big decision to make in the next few scenes after starting his new role at work on EastEnders.
The police officer (Tony Clay) has been working alongside Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and is surprised when he is offered the role of sheriff’s detective trainee.
A delighted Callum celebrates at the Queen Vic with husband Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Vi Highway (Gwen Taylor) and Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), but their joy will be short-lived.
Callum struggles to fit in with his new colleagues to give him a new nickname that he’s not a particular fan of.
But when Jack tasks him with viewing CCTV footage of Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), his new nickname becomes the least of his job worries.
Troubles: Callum Highway (Tony Clay) has a big decision to make in the next few scenes after starting his new role at work on EastEnders.
Secrets: The police officer has been working alongside Jack Branning (left) (Scott Maslen) and is overwhelmed after discovering the affair of Jack’s wife Denise (pictured).
Ravi is being investigated by Jack, who has no idea that he is having an affair with his wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish).
Callum then debates what step to take after finding out what Denise is up to in her private life, and the policeman seeks advice from her husband Ben.
It comes after EastEnders fans were left in shock on Thursday night after Ravi appeared to ‘stalk’ Denise home when she rejected his advances about their developing relationship.
Recently, Denise has been flirting with Ravi behind her husband Jack’s back, sharing passionate kisses in alleyways and whispering sweet words in his ear after a few drinks.
After Ravi offers Denise a one-night getaway with him at a nearby hotel, their affair seems to be on the up as she glammes up and prepares to meet him.
But she was shocked when Jack came home early from a business trip to surprise her and Lily, and she began to suspect that she had run out unexpectedly for the night.
She told her husband, who is a detective, that she wanted to visit their daughter Libby in Oxford, her excuse to go see Ravi at the hotel she booked for the two of them.
Jack looked a little suspicious as she wandered down the hall looking for her keys.
New Role: In the next few scenes, Callum will be surprised to be offered a promotion to the role of Sheriff Detective Trainee on the job.

Walking downstairs with Jack, she told him that she couldn’t find the keys and asked him to leave a set for her under the mat.
As she prepared to leave, Denise told Jack that she loved him, but got no response, leaving her shocked.
She continued to grab her bag and head out the door, only to be stopped by Jack, who told her that she forgot her scarf.
Denise was confused and told him she didn’t need one, but he put it around her neck anyway.
For the second time, he asked her if she had forgotten anything… before revealing the hotel key card, which she had accidentally dropped in her wild search for the keys.
On Thursday night, the audience saw Denise somehow manage to escape Jack’s concerns about her sudden departure, excusing her as a night out to spend time alone.
After arguing for some time, Jack insisted that she go to the hotel anyway, and she headed off to meet Ravi.
