EastEnders fans were left in tears after Lola Pearce finally tied the knot with Jay Brown in a beautiful ceremony on Thursday night’s episode.
On Wednesday night, Lola called off the wedding due to her diagnosis of a terminal brain tumor last year.
While everyone was worrying about where the bride had gone, she came to the wedding to talk to Jay and tell her that she couldn’t marry him.

She said, ‘I want you to know what I’m signing you up for… I’m scared. I’m going to die and I don’t like it’.
Crying Lola said: ‘Think about the end, the end of my life. It’s going to be hard. It could get scary, dark, painful.’
She added: “I grew up in a care, I’m used to being alone.”
But Jay told her that he loves her, saying, “I want to spend the rest of your life with you.”

Lola decides to go through with the wedding and the couple exchange vows and rings as their emotional friends and family look on.

However, there was trouble in paradise for the newlyweds, after Billy Mitchell let it slip that he and Jay went looking for Lola’s long-lost mother, Emma.
A furious Lola stormed off, but Kathy comforted her, telling her that Jay was only looking out for her and to let him look out for her.
He returned to the Old Vic for the wedding reception, and the couple had their first dance.
Lola then gave a speech dedicated to her grandfather Billy, saying, ‘Pops, you’re my mommy, daddy, and grandpa all rolled into one. Thank you for giving me a life worth living.’
But her mother, played by Patsy Kensit, was seen watching the couple from afar in Albert Square.
As Lola and Jay headed home, Jay accidentally released one of her initial balloons and it rose into the sky.
The last shot of the episode showed the couple in bed, with Jay looking sadly at the ‘J’ balloon alone.
