EastEnders’ dog needs life-saving treatment for his brain tumor as owners urge donations

EastEnders’ fan-favorite dog is diagnosed with a worrying brain tumor as owners urge viewers to donate towards a life-saving operation.

EastEnders fans are rallying to lend their financial support to a former star of the show, Cyrus the dog, as he battles health issues.

The Bullmastiff Staffordshire Terrier played the beloved pup Bronson on the show in 2017, belonging to the Taylor family.

But now, Cyrus has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and needs life-saving radiation therapy to shrink the tumor.

Its owner, Caroline King, hopes to raise the amount with a GoFundMe page, where she has a goal of £10,000 for the treatments.

Since creating the crowdfunding page this week, detailing the ordeal, the owner has already raised over £1000.

Urgent: EastEnders’ fan-favorite dog Cyrus (pictured in 2017) has been diagnosed with a troubling brain tumor as his owners urge viewers to donate towards a life-saving operation.

Explaining that she has “used up” all her own funds to get Cryus diagnosed, Caroline shared that the pup’s best treatment is at a specialist center in Edinburgh.

She wrote on the page: ‘Hello my name is Caroline mum to this beautiful boy Cyrus ❤️ Cy has touched many hearts in her life playing white on stage in Oliver and then taking to the big screen becoming Bronson in Eastenders making us feel very proud. .

“However, she sadly suffered a seizure last June, followed by more this month, prompting me to undergo tests, including a brain MRI, which heartbreakingly revealed a tumor. Various options have been discussed, but it seems that the gold standard radiotherapy to help shrink the tumor would be in Edinburgh, with much more high-tech, more precise equipment and less time and stress for my son.

“I hate to ask for help ever before, but I’ve used up all my funds on trials so far. I’m not ready to just give him up. He’s my world. Any help, anywhere, would mean so much ❤️.”

While she also added to Sun this week: ‘It’s a race against time. The thought of losing him is just heartbreaking.

“I just pray that people can take them to their hearts,” Caroline continued.

With donations ranging from £5 to almost £500 in the first three days since the page started, Cyrus might already be on her way to treatment, but she still has a long way to go.

Also hoping to attract more donations, Caroline’s son Daniel organized an online raffle via social media, with all proceeds going to the fund.

Help: Owner Caroline King hopes to raise the amount with a GoFundMe page, where she has a goal of £10,000 for the treatments.

With prizes like an Xbox One, boxing sessions, and even a luxurious haircut, Olaplex treatment, and blow-dry, Daniel has reached out via social media for more prize donations.

In 2017, it was claimed that EastEnders replaced Cyrus with another dog while he was on sick leave, taking him off the show for good.

The furry friend was taking time off soap for a knee operation when Caroline said she received a phone call firing the dog from the role after her second-in-command proved better at “waiting it out” during filming.

Another Dog took over the role of Bronson until 2021, before passing away onscreen, leaving the Taylor family heartbroken.

But casting agency 1st Choice Animals assured concerned fans on Twitter that the dog, believed to be named Kevin, was happy and healthy in real life, despite his on-screen disappearance.

Its owner told The Sun: ‘It’s a race against time. The thought of losing him is just heartbreaking.
